This seems to be a great diesel fuel additive
Reviewing something like a diesel fuel additive is really difficult. Unless you have years of experience with it, you can't judge its performance from personal experience. You can only go by what the manufacturer claims. But can you trust those claims? It's hard to tell. So I went to the Liquid Performance website and looked at the information given about Diesel Doctor. I was pleasantly surprised to find detailed reporting of multiple ASTM test results, which definitely back up the claims made. I also tried to do this for the leading competitive fuel additive that everyone is familiar with and that I have used for many years - call it Brand S - and found nothing but marketing verbiage; no test results at all. So Diesel Doctor wins the transparency competition.Comparing performance claims: Brand S lubricates and cleans the fuel system, prevents sludge and sediment formation, helps remove water and prevents corrosion, keeps diesel fuel fresh for up to 12 months during storage, and works with all types of diesel fuel. Recommended dosage is 1 ounce per 10 gallons for treating fuel in your vehicle's tank and 1 ounce per 5 gallons for long-term storage. The additive itself has a shelf life of 2 years after opening.Diesel doctor claims the same things, but stabilizes diesel fuel for 3+ years instead of 12 months. In addition, it also reduces the gel temperature of the fuel, boosts the Cetane rating by 4+ points, and prevents algae growth. Recommended dosage is 1 ounce per 10 gallons of fuel. A higher dose is not specified for long-term storage, but a dose of 1 ounce per 5 gallons is recommended for deep cleaning the fuel system and preventing gel formation at extremely low temperature. There is no stated shelf life of the additive after opening. The per-ounce price of Diesel Doctor is very high when purchased in the small 4 ounce bottle. However, larger containers are also available (check the Liquid Performance website) at a much more competitive price. Whether or not Diesel Doctor is the right choice of additive depends on your performance needs and preferences, but it's great to have another excellent product to chose from.

What Interest Me is the Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor Properties.
It is pretty much impossible to make any statements about how well this product works, especially with only a few ounces to try. It makes good claims, especially in regards to stabilizing fuel for three years. What really caught my attention though, was its claims about it having vapor corrosion inhibitor properties.I have some tractors and other equipment with steel caps where I get rust on the caps from condensation. I am hoping this product will help eliminate that.Only time will tell. Unfortunately this product is far from economical when sold in the small bottle like this. I cannot find larger amount for sale on Amazon at this time. It is available form the manufacturer for $99 a gallon with free shipping. A gallon will treat 1280 gallons at the standard treatment rate. Hopefully Amazon will add the larger quantities to their site.

Add is kind of misleading
The add shows 3 different size bottles, at a glance one would think that the item being ordered comes in the biggest container. Not so, its the smallest. Way over priced.

Seems Expensive
In very cold weather, it's good to add anti-gel to diesel fuel. We've passed by trucks on the side of the road and kept right on going. This also contains Cetane boost, so it's more than just anti-gel. However, compared with other diesel additives with Cetane boost, this seems to be more expensive.

Inexpensive insurance against bad fuel
I ordered this on the recommendation of my diesel mechanic. He suggested using a fuel stabilizer treatment for the diesel fuel we use on the ranch. I have a 4 wheel drive, 28hp, diesel tractor. I get fuel in 5 gallon cans, typically three or four cans at a time, so the fuel may sit for a month or more prior to use. A fuel treatment like this helps keep the fuel fresh, which ultimately helps the tractor run better. This is my first use of this product, so far it seems to work well. I'll know more once we've run it in the tractor for a while. If it helps keep the fuel fresh and improves engine performance it will be well worth the price.I will update this review should anything change - so far I am pleased with the product and the price.

Works well .
I have 3 Duramax trucks , an 02 plow truck that sits most of the time , an 05 that's my shop truck and an 18 that's my personal ride . We didn't get one plowable snow this winter so the old 02 has sat a lot . I treat the fuel in all 3 and when I got this I wanted a good test , I took the ole plow truck up to fill it as it was at about a half tank and was running with a bit of a "lope" from settin' . It has a 34 gallon tank so I just dumped the whole bottle in before I filled it . By the the time I got back to the shop (6 miles) it had smoothed out and was perfect . I have ordered a jug of it , it's good stuff . I recommend it 100% with two thumbs up !
