Raw Unrefined Extra Virgin Certified Organic Maracuja Oil - 4 fl.oz

I had tested the Tarte Maracuja oil in store & liked the effects on the back of my hand. The sales girl told me it was organic, but the packaging didn't, so I decided to do more research before purchasing. I'm so glad I did! Tarte is NOT organic. It also has very little scent. I suspect that's due to high amounts of processing. However, if like some reviewers, you are very sensitive to earthy scents, it might be a better option for you. The bottle is certainly gorgeous, & that's obviously what you're paying for. The Tarte oil doesn't even compare to this in terms of freshness, quality, or price!This Maracuja oil (or at least the batch I received) is very pungent, especially when poured out of the bottle & rubbed between the hands. I was actually a bit surprised at how strong the scent was. I had figured the other reviewers were just exaggerating, or were only used to using heavily processed & perfumed products. I buy raw, unprocessed oils & butters all the time, so I was already expecting a deep nutty, earthy scent & this was still a bit much for me. I didn't let it stop me, though. I warmed it between my hands & covered my whole body in it. I stank like the forest floor for a few minutes & the scent dissipated almost completely within about 10. My husband is extremely sensitive to (& vocal about) "hippie smells" & he didn't say a word about it when I came to bed.My skin is pretty dry to start with & usually absorbs argan oil reasonably quickly, but this sunk in to the point of having nothing left. I did a second layer & within a few minutes, the scent was almost gone & only a slight shine was left on my skin. At bedtime, I layer a huge glob of handmade shea body butter on my scaly shins & feet over the top of this before putting on heavy socks. It has greatly reduced the irritation & itching on my shins & has softened my heels without the need for vigorous exfoliation. Although my body butter is pretty great, it wasn't giving me this kind of results.I would highly recommend this to anyone who can tolerate a few minutes of stink in order to receive amazing skin & hair benefits! Also, because it sinks in so completely, it doesn't interfere with makeup application or hair styling! It's my new favourite body moisturizer. I'm really excited to mix up a new batch of body butter using this instead of my usual oil. Men especially would benefit from the deep penetrating moisture without the greasy feel.I also highly recommend going to the company's website. You'll find a plethora of information about each product they offer. It takes at least 2 hours to read it all. If you're ready to order, the shipping price for a single product is better on Amazon than on the website. The packaging was very secure & eco-friendly to boot! My one single complaint is that the bottle was plastic & not glass. I feel this should at least be an upgrade option.

I've been using argan oil on my face for almost a year as a "sealing in the moisture" last step on my face. I liked argan oil but it did not sink into my skin very well. Very annoying, though I did like it's effects. Maracuja oil is much better for my skin type. It sinks in, and I'm noticing extraordinary effects. You can make your own skincare with this as a base and I personally plan on experimenting with it. Really, really, wonderful product. Again, let me comment on the smell of the oil. I've read reviews on maracuja oil in many places and people complain about the smell a lot. This is a natural oil so what do you expect? Seriously. It has a nutty/fruity smell but does not smell rancid or anything. I love it. Using this along with the lightening products have really propelled me to further investigate the healing properties of these lovely, natural, oils from South America. This oil is literally half the price of a well-known brand and it is 2 ounces more! Get this oil!! If you read reviews about maracuja, they are all true. Your skin will be clearer, brighter, firmer, more lifted. Just add a few drops to your regimen and you will see the difference almost immediately. And for the price, it's your best buy.

I've been using organic Argan oil for over a year and wanted to try something new that I could alternate with the Argan oil since I keep reading that it makes the oils more effective, and this is perfect! This is the only Maracuja oil I've tried so far, it's hard to find it raw and organic esp. At a resonable price and this oil seems to be all of the above. The smell is a little strong but you get more used to it as time goes, and to me the strong smell reassures me that it's pure and not watered down with cheaper oils.I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, with adult acne and all and this oil really helps with every issue, and smooths my wrinkles too and gives a noticible lift and smoothness to my skin. The only thing is I can't use this one as close to my eyelashes as I can with Argan b/c it does sting my eyes, so I just use my argan oil around my eyes and this everywhere else every few days.Thank you so much for this very reasonable option! I will buy again and defnitely reccomend to others!

I'm thrilled. I've been using Tarte for about a year and am still amazed at the healing properties of the oil. I tried this version simply for the price difference and now instead of doling out a few drops at a time I can slather it on. My only concern before I ordered was with the negative comments about the odor. I may have simply lucked out and got some from an inoffensive batch, as there is bound to be some inconsistency, but the oil I received has a very faint, almost indiscernible herbal grassy scent. I would have to guess that anyone who could be put off by this odor has never pruned a plant nor turned a trowel of soil and would be well served to stick with the more refined floral scented oils. For my part, I think this is my first bottle of many to come.

I been using Tarte maracuja oil for over a year now. This oil is great but it smells like guava juice, it doesn't really bother because smell goes away after few minutes. I do recommend this oil and I would purchase it again.

I am giving this oil 5 stars because of the high quality. It didn't agree with my skin but it is high in vitamin c from my understanding and "c" notoriously rashes me up. My skin is very sensitive. I gave it to my sister and she is in love with it! this oil is real and raw and has a delightful natural scent. For those that are scent sensitive it is mild and does not linger.

I've been using this product for some time now and I really like it. I also have the Tarte Maracuja oil and this works just as well. Yes it does have a smell. Sort of nutty and earthy but the scent goes away in few minutes. I have very dry skin and just couple drops of this is enough. I have mine is a spray bottle and it works very well.
