Fit perfectly in an Aqua Ultraviolet 80 watt clarifiertube
It is an exact replacement for what was in the device originally. The packaging was especially heartwarming. It survived the usual shipping hazards with no damage whatsoever. I recommend reading the instructions for your particular device as to how to change a light tube before attempting it. It is not at all intuitive. It is entirely possible to destroy the quartz tube in the process by simply dropping the light tube into the quartz tube and letting it free fall to punch out the bottom of the tube. At that point you would have to replace the quartz tube, and the light to would probably break in the process as well. Plus, how do you get the shard out? A five minute job has become a two-hour job. You see then, that considerable study and caution is required before you start unscrewing things. From the top of the clear blue crystal cap, one tube does appear to be brighter than the other. I haven't sorted that out. But because my pond became crystal clear after just a few hours of use, I don't care.

NOT Aqua Brand UV Lights
The lights I received are NOT Aqua brand UV lights. I would have returned these Chinese made lights but I figured I would give them a try. If I find they are crap, I will make sure to let everyone know. UPDATE: August 3, 2012 - So far so good. They seem to be performing as well as the brand name ones. They have been running for about a month now. Will know at the end of the season when I remove them to see how they stood up. July 11, 2013 - Yes I am still using the same lights. They are doing a great job. Would recommend these.

It is expensive but made a HUGE difference to water clarity
I bought a house and on the third summer the lamp needed to be replaced but I was hesitating on doing it due to the cost. The pond water got so murky I could barely see below 1 foot of the water. The three stage filters and Biome balls were clogging every 2 days and no matter what chemicals I tried to used I could not clear the water. After doing some research I found that although the lamp was on it was likely not intense enough to kill the bacteria in the water. No joke at all; 1 week after changing the lamp I was able to see the bottom of the pond about 5 feet down. After the second week the water was crystal clear and has remained that way for 4 months. My filters are cleaned out about once every 2 weeks when using the new lamp in the sterilizer.

Works perfectly-my pond contractor told me about these
This light works perfectly for more than a year so far. Saved me a lot of $$ when my contractor told me to order from Amazon.

Not recommended
These bulbs do not last. I ordered a new one - blew out immediately & shipped it back. The second one arrived a week later & it was completely shattered in the tube box it came in. Just a headache to deal with. I switched uv clarifying systems completely just to get away from this one. Plus the bulbs are pricey. Others aren’t.
