EMST150 Expiratory Muscle Strength Trainer

The person this was intended for is too weak to use it but his speech therapist suggested I use it for breathing training for swimming and biking. It is more challenging than I thought. It requires a fast hard exhalation. It should be obvious you used a belly breath to accomplish the task.

It’s a medical breathing device designed to strengthen the lungs & throat muscles. It was recommended by a throat specialist as part of a regimen to achieve those goals. Although results can only be measured over time, based on the daily effort required, I’m confident that it will work exactly as intended.

This seemed costly compared to other things I have used and I didn’t get much benefit from it. Luckily, I didn’t have to use it for too many months.

Was recommended to me by my speech therapist. It seems like a simple tool, and I hesitated, given the price, but it’s well made and certainly helps in the therapeutic process. I don’t use it as often as I should, now that my therapy sessions are completed, but when I do use it, I feel (and hear) the benefits.

We bought this product to help my husband who has Parkinson’s.It essentially gets you breathing out under pressure,strengthening the swallowing muscles,which weaken in Parkinson’s.He has been using the strengthener for one week,and his voice has gained strength,also his swallow is stronger.I am very impressed,and would recommend it to anyone with swallowing problems.
