This is an excellent water purification system. The water coming out of it tastes great. This system is a little bulky but we purchased glass bottles so that we can bottle water once a week and store the Berkey system out of the way for the rest of the week. My family feels much better about drinking this water and not what comes directly our of the city water system.

So far these are the best filter I’ve used. Filter speed is good for me. I run about 4 gallons in a couple hours in my DIY filtration unit.

The price of these was great, 1/3 the price of the genuine Berkey filters. Unfortunately you get what you pay for. We’ve had the Berkey now for probably over seven years and this is the first time I bought aftermarket filters. They look the same but they don’t filter the same. I was worried the moment I put them in and added water, it ran right through it filters way too fast. I even checked the seal to make sure there was water was going through the filters and not leaking outside the seals. We were in the city of Summerland California and the water there is way over chlorinated and these filters didn’t take out any of that bad taste. So I ordered the original Berkey filters for $165, installed them, and the water quality is perfect again, no chlorine taste. So don’t waste your money on the cheap ones.

I built my 5 gallon bucket water filter and used these filter elementss. My wife and I are very satisfied with the results. Our city water is very clean 99% of the time, but an aging infrastructure means we occasionally have muddy water. It's still treated, but muddy. These filters did an excellent job of remediating that situation. Contrary to some reviews comments on the filters not taking out biohazards ... they're not designed to do that. That's why all water needing filtering also needs treatment to kill off what's not good for you. You can buy the prepared treatment kits or use common ordinary bleach. The idea is to instill the proper amount of hypochlorite (sodium, calcium) which is found in laundry bleach. It really does pay to understand what you're buying. These filters also do not reduce TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) ... minerals. You know the minerals in mineral water. I don't want the minerals all taken out; water like that is tasteless which translates as tasting bad. Try making coffee with distilled water and check out the flavor; you need plain old water ti get the flavor most people want. But ... as is always the case, YMMV.

Fits well in my big Berkey. Water seems to run in small spurts through the filters rather than drip drip, but other than that it seems to function the way my Berkey filters did.

Update in replacement filters. The replacement filters have held up well. Whatever the problem was with the first I received seems to have been resolved and the replacements are working fine. I reached out to the seller and got an immediate response. I described the problem and sent photos. They very quickly sent replacements. I've primed the replacements and put them in. 24 hours later and they're still intact. I will check again over the next few days and hope that they stay glued to their bases. I thought it would be smart to save money on filters but now the money I spent was completely wasted. These filters are literally worthless. I had prepped these like I've always prepped filters for my Berkie but soon after installing, these just weren't filtering. I figured I would go ahead and scrub them and backflush them again. Carrying the Berkie over to the sink though, something was obviously wrong as the filters started banging around inside. Opening theblid I saw that 3 out of 4 had become completely unglued from their base letting water pass right through unfiltered.
