I am 170#, 5'11" with a 34" waist and 41" chest and am normally between a Medium and Large in most purchases. After reading reviews I ordered this jacket in a size Large and the Rothco version in a size Medium. I was swimming in the Rothco, the fit was horrible however, the Alpha was a perfect fit. Jacket is great in a convertible on a 62 degree morning riding down the highway at 65mph.

I tried the Rothco first, but was unimpressed by the quality and fit. I wanted something with less baggy sleeves so decided to go with a slim fit flight jacket from Alpha Industries.Despite all the reviews telling me to size up, I still chose to go with my normal size telling myself that I never wear XXL in anything. I put my trust in the Alpha Industries sizing chart, and ended up with a XL with a sausage-casing fit. I could zip it up, but only barely. Maybe a slim guy could pull off that fit, but if you have even a slight dad bod you will want to size up one. The XXL fit ended up being just right, roomy enough to fit comfortably while still maintaining the tapered look that this jacket is famous for.I can tell these are made with very high quality materials, and that this jacket will end up being an heirloom piece.

I'm enthusiastic about the materials and build quality as other reviewers have mentioned, but I can't make it work for me. It feels perfect for sub 60 degree (not sunny) weather. The style is timeless and versatile. However, the cutting of this jacket is strange. The slim fit is fine on some parts of my person but unflattering in other areas.I'm 5'5 and about 125-130 lbs. skinny but athletic. opted for the XS following the size chart.Wearing it unzipped, arms at my sides, the the jacket feels normal.Zipped up, my torso looks rectangular and blocky. The material kind of spills onto the sides because of the elastic waist and taut nylon shell so a right-angle is created. The length of the jacket is perfect, about 26 inches and just covers my jean pockets. Not a lot of excess puffiness in the back like the standard MA1.In addition, I feel the jacket is more snug around my stomach than my chest, even though I don't have a belly. I have to stand up with perfect posture to get a decent look. The pocket material is what makes me look like i have a gut, because there are pockets on both sides of this jacket. Relaxed posture is not flattering in this, unlike a hoodie.I try to cross my arms to hug myself and it feels tight around my shoulders and back. The arm holes are a little too high up to my armpits. I can feel it pulling up and digging in even with only a t-shirt on. It is definitely tight on the chest shoulders and back.Sleeve length and width is fine, but if you have larger biceps/ chest, i recommend sizing up.Layering in this is OK, provided your middle layer isn't baggier than this jacket.This jacket could be great, but the disproportionate feel of it ruins it for me. I don't want to feel constricted in my armpits and hugged at my stomach all day.

This are my first impressions of this beautiful garment, It fits very slim i'm a short person 5'7, 155 pounds and the small t fits just right, little bit long on the sleeves, cuffs are really long but you can fold them actually very comfortable. Not very much room on chest when closed, perfect for wear with t shirts or even with a very thin layer like a sweater or a thermal, its gonna be tight with a thick hoodie, in that case you should go for the medium for more room, also shoulders fit just right too. This is definitively for a slim to normal person type, if you are overweight and have that big belly forget about it you should go for the regular fit. It seems very warm jacket perfect for fall-winter season i might say for the 40-50 degrees will cover you up from those chilly days. It comes with an orange reversible side, gold hardware and sturdy zippers and leather accents. 5 pockets 2 exterior and 2 interior and 1 arm. I am glad they made this slim fit because the regular seems very roomy and not very flattering, thats why i decide to buy this one. Made in China but with US military standards. Comes with the classic red ribbon on arm pocket that you can unmount. The nylon is a super beautiful material seems water and wind resistant. I think this is a lifetime piece that will go with me in my adventures.

Got this to cut down on the original MA-1 jacket poof. I like how the OG looks on others, but as someone who is 5’6” they kind of dwarf me and throw off my proportions.Originally I ordered this in a small because I’m between sizes, but I had to exchange it for a medium. I’m roughly 166lbs at the moment, and I have a slightly larger than average chest. The small was way too tight in the chest, but the medium is “just right”.I will say that even the slim fit is slightly bigger than my Small size H&M MA-1 jacket. Longer arms, too. At least for shorter people. I prefer the fit of that jacket, but only by a slight margin. The Alpha is much better quality overall, though.

This is my second purchase from Alpha Industries. I love the regular MA-1 flight jacket, so I thought it would look even better in a slim fit. These jackets are very well made. The material, the collar, the zipper, and even the buttons for the pockets all feel like high quality material and are well put together to make a great jacket. Every detail is there, all the way down to the stitching.My only complaint is that this slim fit jacket is too small. I was instructed to get the XS (as I am 5'5", weighing around 130lbs) but the jacket ended up feeling too tight, specifically around the chest, shoulders, and the arms when bent. I know that the style of this jacket is to be a bit short in length, but this one just sat too far above my waist. I struggled even more when I had a hoodie layered underneath. I should've expected a size change with the slim fit, but I just went with what the sizing chart told me on their website. I will be returning this jacket with hope to get a size bigger.Other than that, the quality of this jacket is amazing!

I've wanted a flight jacket for quite some time now and I truly am glad that I went for the Alpha Industries MA-1. It's a fantastic jacket overall, great for both autumn and the winter. While I do not regret my purchase in the slightest, there are a few things to note, however.Firstly, the sizing was smaller than what I was expecting. I came in expecting slim-fit, sure, but then I figured that it would only slightly hug my frame and that it would give me plenty of room to double-layer. However, upon receiving my jacket I realized that it hugged my frame a little bit too snug, and while it's possible to double layer, it makes zipping up a very tight and quite honestly uncomfortable experience. That being said, it would probably be best to order a size larger than what you normally wear. It has been a while since I bought this jacket, otherwise, I would have loved to exchange mine and get one size up.The second thing to note would be that despite being warm, the jacket alone can not handle Canadian winters all too well, nor was I expecting it to. For those wanting an end-all winter jacket, this simply won't do. It is not rated for weather below -20 degrees Celcius, so double-layering is an absolute must. For the temperature range, the product does cover however, I have been more than comfortable wearing it with just a t-shirt.

This jacket immediately caught my eye when I was browsing for a new nylon bomber jacket online. I have never heard of this company before so I decided to read many reviews from previous buyers. I saw YouTube videos of people who purchased the regular MA-1 jacket, but it looked too puffy. So I found out there was a slimmer version and many people recommended to size up. But I was very skeptical and kept going back and forth on sizing between Large and XL for my purchase order (Because my regular top size is Large)I am well built; 6'0 (184 cm) and weigh 195 lbs. My jacket literally just got delivered a few hours ago and I ordered this literally 1.5 days ago; super fast shipping and I am so glad I sized up. My MA-1 slim jacket fits me perfectly. Trust me, for this specific jacket, you must size up! Especially if you want to layer. Very happy with the purchase and will definitely be looking out for future products from this brand! =)

Quite a nice jacket. Great quality.The zipper seems a bit hard to use sometimes and a few might not like the fact that the bottom of the jacket falls just below the belt (as shown on the main pic on the profile).The wrist could also be tighter.I usually wear size M but I've ordered L (after some buyers warnings).I'm 5'11 and 180 lbs. And the fit is just fine! So, size up!Pockets are deep and comfortable. Definitely made for spring, summer, and fall.It will keep you warm for sure.Received it within 2 business days.The red tag (as shown in the pics) might only be included with the blue one (not sure).

I know a lots of people are looking for this jacket but are concerned with the fitting. I'm 5'-10 1/2", 160 lbs. ordered the medium and fit very good. This jacket is meant to fit "higher" at the waist than a regular jacket. So expect it to stop at your belt level, not lower than that. Medium size for my shape gave me the right location for the shoulder seam (I hate when the shoulder seam gets on the arm rather than the sweet spot on the shoulder). Overall it is a very nice jacket. These days it has become almost a fashion item than just a regular jacket. It is not as practicale as other jacket might be (pocket are not located, at an ideal position for example), but for the look it is hard to beat. I had it for 122$ can +tx if you wonder.
