works perfect for using with a padlock, very simple and secure. great if you have a lot of keyed alike padlocks. locks were made to keep honest people honest

Works as intended on my military M101A2 Trailer. Perfect size for the Lunette. I just wish that they would have designed it to fit a larger padlock. Thats why I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise works great!

Simple designs tend to work the best. I like this. You can spend a lot of money on fancier lock systems, but why? Simple works. I read in an earlier review that someone had issue getting to the lock. Well, you want it cumbersome as that is part of the deterant, but yes, you do want it to be easy for you to use with the key. I found it cumbersome to put a lock on it because I am an older disabled guy and not able to stand on my head to work with it. But I found that putting it on my Pintle ring upside down, it puts the lock on the top where I can see it better. It worked out fine upside down. If someone wanted my trailer bad enough, sure they might still get it, but not without some headache. Any lock system is just a deterant and keeps honest people honest. A criminal will look, see the lock and move onto an easier victim typically. Thats what this lock accomplishes at a good price. The Master stainless disk lock fits it just fine, and will also help prevent someone cutting it because they won't be able to get a bolt cutter on the shank.

I've had one just like this for about 8 years. The only problem I've had with it is a little bit of rust.

It is an inexpensive but practical locking system for a pintle hitch. Fits the ring on my military trailer fine. Not a heavy duty unit but provides good basic theft protection at a reasonable price. Leaves a padlock (not included) quite exposed to potential cutting or breaking tools so be aware of that weakness.

I only had long shackled locks and you will need a short lock. No worries
