My Son's Favorite Series
My son loves the Dragon Masters series. It's his favorite and he was so excited when this one arrived. We had pre-ordered it and he had been waiting patiently and he hasn't put it down since it arrived. We've already ordered #18! Thank you for inspiring my son's love of reading.

Wonderful series for young boys
This is a great set for young boys to be lured into reading. My grandson was a bit of a reluctant reader until we found this series. Hint for parents: You can also order a book called Griffith's Guide for Dragon Masters: A Branches Special Edition which features maps, information about Dragon Masters and their dragons, notes from wizards, the history of Dragon Masters etc. We've found that not only does he love this book --we got it for him after he'd read about 12 of the books--and for us :-). It sure helps us follow his reading and have some understanding of the stories to be able to discuss the stories without actually reading each book ourselves.

Another great addition to the Dragon Master series.
My son read and wrote this review about the book:I liked this book because there is a new dragon: Shaka. Like every book in the dragon master's series, Tracy West seems to always figure out a way to make the dragon seem cool and awesome. In this book, the stone dragon has a secret hidden power. I won’t spoil it...it is fun to try and guess what that secret hidden power is. I read it all the way through without stopping! I couldn’t wait to find out what the power was and how she would use it.I am a 9-year-old boy from Seattle. I’ve been a fan of the Dragon Master series for about 3 years now. It’s a decently easy read for me, but I still love it when a new book comes out. Thanks!

Kid likes, but she can do better
ZERO COMPLEXITY. The entire story of each book can be summarized verbally in one or two sentences. Some of the characters are so lacking in development, they seem to ALMOST pander to dangerous stereotypes - hot-headded redhead, wily Irish, cool-hearted muscle-brained Scando, proud and overzealous Arab. BORING characters - same simple plot every single book. I MUCH prefer the Lumberjanes.

Very reluctant reader LOVES these books!
My daughter, an 8-year-old gifted student who really resists reading, absolutely loves these books. She gets one and literally can't put it down. The only downside is that there aren't dozens more of them! This latest in the series, Fortress of the Stone Dragon, did not disappoint. She got it, read it cover to cover, and then looked up with a huge smile on her face. Thank you, Tracey West!

Great real aloud for girls and boys
My daughter loves this series. I bought the original books for my youngest who likes all things dragon and dinosaur. But my unicorn-loving daughter started wanting this series every night when she was five as the read aloud. We love getting a new one and starting the series again.

Great book!
Nice story. Nice pictures. I do think it should be longer, though. Actually, I think the whole series should be longer. See, that's the thing with the dragon masters series: it's too short.

If you are on book 17 you already know...
These books are great! My son was excited for the latest one, and devoured this one the first night we had it. I love reading them with him!

Our kids LOVE the Dragon Master's book series
We needed a good "first chapter" series with lots of pictures as for bedtime routine as picture books just became rather expensive. So I searched the internet and came across the recommendation for Scholastic's Dragon Masters book series. They LOVE all the characters/dragons in the books and love guessing what each person can do and what powers the dragons have.Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures. Unfortunately not all the books are available for Amazon Kindle, so some books we had to buy as hard paper and we are running out of space in our bookshelves as we have sooo many books, so we prefer electronic copies. Electronic copies also allow us to share it onto their Amazon Fire tablets for kids.Again, LOVED by all of our kids and we have different ages and grasp of the world. Unfortuantely we have read ALL the books available and now have to wait until March 2021 until the next book comes out.

Perfect for younger reader/listeners too!
My 5-6 year old loves this series. We read it together and he can’t wait for the next one! It’s perfect - the content is totally age appropriate (not violent, mean, or scary) but a bit longer and more involved. A great introduction to chapter books! (For comparison’s sake, we also read Boxcar Children, Pug Diaries, Stink, and The Princess in Black. We don’t like Geronimo Stilton.)

Way more violence than the rest of the series.
Read this to yourself before reading it to your kid. My boy loved the first 16 books. We've read the whole series 8 or 9 times. This book left him in tears. It was also more violent than the previous 16 books combined. It seems as if this book was written for older kids than the others.

Great Book
Another great book for my 8 year old. He just loves the Dragon Masters series and can't wait until another book is released. I recommend this series to many friends and family members. It is a great start to chapter books when the tradition from picture books is difficult.
