This System Works
After trying several GPS systems, I decided to try one that made its own signal. I had a GPS tracker, and she would be a mile away before it even said she was gone. A wireless fence with GPS, our signal was too weak to set it up. This or wired fence was all that was left to choose from. Our girl is special to us. She wandered onto our property although our herding dogs barked at her. She was emaciated and it was cold outside. She had no chip or tags, and no one was looking for her. That is a common occurrence around here. About 2 weeks later she kept running away. Always to the same place. A little boy to play with. The little boy told the truth. It was theirs. They didn't want her anymore. We tried everything and this was the last resort. It worked great. It was very easy to set up. The transistor is lightweight. You don't even need molly bolts to hang it. Before I actually put the collar on her and turned the transistor on, she was outside tearing up the flags. LOL But you get lots of them. Is it very expensive? It depends what price you put on your dog. Priceless. Now I can get something done besides chasing dogs down the road. The system has very sturdy collars and with a battery I don't have to charge every night. On other collars the dogs play rough and actually turn the thing off. Fitting the collar was the hardest part of setting this system up. It worked so well, we bought this extra transistor to expand the play area. I was worried that the collars might shock them in the house where the areas intersect, but I found no places that would do that. We are extremely pleased with this system.

Get it!
I have a 1 yr old great pyrneese. She was swiftly earning the reputation as the neighborhood nuisance. Nothing and no one could keep her from bolting out a slightly ajar door. She would lead us on hours long chases all over, bothering everyone we crossed and getting police involved. This is the best thing I've ever spent money on.It took her two days to understand where most of the boundary was and she flat out refused to get anywhere near it. When she was finally off leash, she DID try to go thru it, but as soon as the beeping started she ran back to our door!I should have gotten this day one!!!

Great portable fence for the on the go pet family
This works great! I live on acres with no fence and my tiny Chichuaua thinks he’s a Great Dane. I literally fitted the collar, turned on the machine set it to the largest range and walked him to his boundaries. The first time he hit the boundary he knew. It only took 2 times for him to understand the beeping and now he turns around right away. Literally changed my disobedient puppy into a very pleasant puppy to hang out with outside.

Too Inconsistent to be Trusted
We have owned the Petsafe Wireless Containment System for two years. We purchased it on Amazon in August of 2016. As we trained our German Shepherd using the wireless containment system, we followed the directions precisely. At first, things worked well. Our dog knew her boundary. The system worked when it needed to, and our dog knew to run back toward the house when she had gone too far.But as time went on, the system became more and more inconsistent. All dogs need consistency, especially German Shepherds. At times, the system would start to shock her while she was safely inside her zone. At other times, the system wouldn't shock her when she went beyond her boundary. We tried troubleshooting by unplugging the transmitter and plugging it back in again. We changed batteries in her collar. We tried adjusting the circumference of her circle. Sometimes it would work, but inevitably, it would go back to its inconsistent ways.Today was the last straw. I was outside with our German Shepherd when someone walked by with his dog. The other dog was safely outside of our dog's radius, but because the system has been so inconsistent recently, my dog ran to the other dog. Thankfully, I was able to call her back right away, but I could tell the other dog owner was a little frightened by the experience. And I don't blame him! My dog should have stayed in her yard. But the system failed to work. Then, as I was bringing my dog into the house, safely within the containment system, the collar started zapping her without warning. She completely freaked out, and she is now terrified to go into our kitchen and out the back door.Needless to say, I'm done with this product. I cannot recommend it as it currently works to anyone who loves their pet. It is too inconsistent and can cause more damage than good. I wish it worked. I wish it did what it promised. I wish I got what I paid for. But instead, I have a nervous dog who gets shocked inside the house, safely inside her radius and doesn't get shocked when she goes outside of the safe zone.
