Great crossover!
I have used Audio Control gear since the late 1980's. Solid equipment, great sound. I've never had any problems with their gear or with the company. Top notch stuff. I bought the programming module to switch the highpass to 3500hz so I could triamp my home stereo system (and remove passive crossovers from my speakers). Best thing I've done to my system EVER! and audio control made it possible. Thanks guys!

2002 Boston Cavalier "SQL"
Had this unit for years and absolutely no troubleallowed me to turn the gain down on all my amps reducing heat, clipping, power waste only downfalls are the pfm chips if you don't know what you need or have a local shop can be a pain to set because the pfm chips installed are way off!

Best Crossover I've Ever Owned
The modules inside can be a little confusing, and changing them out is more complicated and expensive than just knobs that you can turn. The manual does a terrible job of explaining the purpose of each module, to the point where it's pretty much wrong. Here's the actual layout:- top 2 modules (one 16 pin and one 14 pin) are the subsonic filter and LOW-PASS filter for the subwoofer channel. There's no actual crossing over going on here. These 2 modules essentially determine the lowest and highest frequencies your subwoofer will see.- middle module (16 pin) is a HIGH PASS filter for the rear channel. Again, no actual crossing over happening here. This module determines the lowest frequency the rear channel will see. So it will play all frequencies above that point.- bottom 2 modules (one 16 pin and one 14 pin) are the subsonic filter for the FRONT LOW and the crossover point between the FRONT LOW and FRONT HIGH channels. One pair of inputs go in, and 2 pairs come out. These modules determine the lowest and highest frequencies the front woofers will see, and the lowest frequency the tweeters will see.The part that gets expensive and tedious is that the included modules probably won't suit most people's needs, so they'll need to be replaced. This means either buying them or making your own. Experimenting can get real expensive, so it's best to determine which ranges your speakers are best at, and just buy the appropriate modules. I've found sellers on eBay that will build custom modules on request, and they're a fair bit cheaper than official AudioControl modules. But I've come across a few bad ones this way, which gets frustrating. The official ones from AudioControl are dead-on accurate and reliable every time. Why modules instead of adjustable knobs? Because this crossover is FANTASTIC for tuning to really unorthodox frequencies. Most potentiometers only give you a generic, limited range that you can adjust to (30-150hz for subwoofer, 150-1000hz for mids, etc). But with modules, you can suit this crossover to any purpose. In my setup, I'm splitting the "front" channel into 4" woofers and 1" tweeters. It starts at 270hz, with a crossover at 3500hz (270hz-3500hz for the woofers, 3500hz+ for the tweeters). I'm using the "subwoofer" channel to limit my rear door-mounted 6.5" woofers to within 100hz-950hz. And I'm not using the "rear" channel at all, although I may add some 2" tweeters there at some point for rear seat passengers. This is far from a typical setup, but it works out perfectly for me, and I wouldn't be able to do it with a typical crossover. It also means I don't need door-mounted passive crossovers for my front setup. I do have an 8" subwoofer in the trunk, but it has its own low-pass filter from my dash-mounted AudioControl Three.2 EQ. The resulting sound is fantastic. Each speaker plays within its strengths, and power from the amps doesn't get wasted. If you're building a sound setup with a specific plan in mind, this crossover is amazingly flexible and gives fantastic performance.
