I answered my own questions
The low price of this item allowed me to go ahead and order it without having my question about the scale markings answered.The imperial scale has 1/16" increments, with a useable range of 0-3/4"The metric scale has 0.5mm increments, with a useable range of 0-20mmThe LED light is a bright white light provided by three bulbs. There is some glare on the scale/ruler markings, but not too bad.

USB rechargeable not batteries
Neat and lightweight in a protective case. Cheap enough to try out without breaking the bank. Optics appear clear enough for me. Wanted for viewing natural history specimens in the field. Seems just the ticket. Nice light and an inbuilt scale. No batteries, just a usb lead to charge it.

Lupe toll bis auf den Kabelanschluss schlecht zu sehen wie rum das Kabel einzusetzen ist und sehr sehr hakeliger Anschluß. Was auch etwas ungenügend ist der abnehmbare Standfuß der nicht viel größer ist als der Durchmesser des Griffes der nicht als Standfuß zunutzen ist!!!
