I first picked up one of these uni HDMI external-display adaptors when my new iPad Pro dropped the Lightning port and went to USB-C. It works GREAT for this, and having passthrough charging ability on the adaptor is essential for running an external display on the iPad, since the tablet only has the one port.For some reason, the description says the uni adaptor "does not currently support iPad Pro." Maybe this is true of one of the bigger-screen iPads that needs more juice to charge, but my 10" iPad Pro LOVES this uni external display adaptor, and the passthrough charging works just fine as well.Next, I just picked up one of the shiny new M2 MacBook Airs, so, I need to transition my laptop's HDMI external-display dongles from DisplayPort to USB-C. (Progress apparently means "newer dongles.")The majority of users probably wouldn't run into this issue, but in my home living room AND in my home office I have 5.1 multichannel audio systems. I discovered first-hand that many of the inexpensive USB-C mini-hubs and HDMI adaptors I tested DO NOT support multi-channel Mac system audio on the HDMI output. They report themselves to the Mac system as being stereo only, and that's all the audio they will do.Luckily, I remembered that I had this uni adaptor already on hand for my iPad, and fished it out to give it a try -- and, wonder of wonders, not only does it work great with the M2 laptop PICTURE wise, it also properly reports itself to the Mac as a multi-channel device, and will pass through digital multichannel formats like AC3 and DTS to a home theater receiver with no trouble.Unlike some of the other USB-C-HDMI adaptors I tested with my new laptop, this uni adaptor runs totally cool to the touch and maintains a rock-solid video connection. And it's very compact. Some adaptors (like a NICE quality one I tested from Cable Matters) only have the HDMI port and are amazingly tiny, but again, they don't have passthrough charging, which I think is definitely worth a little extra width! And the uni even gives you the bonus of a single USB-A port, in case you need to hook up an external disk drive while you're showing stuff on your TV. Honestly, 99% of the time, hooking up an external display and one USB device covers ALL of my laptop-dongle needs.So yes, you can easily get less expensive HDMI USB-C dongles, but beware the multichannel sound issue, if that's important to you. And some of the cheaper dongles I tested don't have as stable a video connection as this one -- they just plain don't work as well. (I did find and test a nice, inexpensive USB-C portable mini-hub from UPGROW. For about the same price as the uni, it has HDMI, passthrough charging, both sizes of SD card reader, and THREE USB-A ports, and it works GREAT. But dangit, no multichannel audio!! So that decent little UPGROW portable mini-hub now does road warrior duty in my laptop bag, since I really only need 5.1 audio capability at home.)So, yes, this uni adaptor is about ten or twelve bucks more than the very cheapest USB-C-HDMI adaptors, but it's also a better unit than many of those, and I think it's worth the moderate price bump. I've just bought a second one.

Works great on a s20 fe both in mirror mode and dex if anyone has issues plug device into phone then power cord c to c with a fast charger then hdmi cord then last step plug hdmi into TV and change source if needed had no problems worked perfectly and does exactly what it's supposed to do. This is the 2nd product bought the same thing from a different company 1st and that one did not work and plug was loose even listed s20 fe compatibility in description still didn't work but this one from this company was perfect

When your macbook gives you no ports, you start looking for solutions.Uni has a great, robust line of products. The cables are strong. The enclosure feel secure and high quality.I have searched for a combination usb-c hubs to use it with my macbook, where it has only one usb-c hub.I initially bought one of those expensive ones sell for $60 that is connected to the side of the laptop without a cable. I thought it would work better, but what a waste of money. It ended up breaking apart because there is no flexibility.Uni cable's provide great flexibility with their robust braided cable at the fraction of a cost. Unlike other brands, this is light and small enough to carry in your pocket. It works great, just adds all the standard ports you need while you are charging your laptop. I highly recommend this product. It would be the best $ you'd spend on your macbook/pro.Keep up the good work at Uni.

I purchased both the 30hz and the 60hz options initially to compare. I couldn’t tell a difference between the t, so I kept the cheaper 30 option and for two weeks it worked great, then suddenly it just stopped. My monitor wouldn’t recognize the connection to my laptop and my laptop wouldn’t charge via usb c. For a brief period of time, if I unplugged, plugged back in, changed usb c ports on my laptop, things would work; but eventually that stopped too. The connections physically felt secure, but I found that if I pressed on the adapter connection, my computer/monitor would respond. Obviously holding a cord in a precise place is no long term solve, so ultimately decided to return the product.

J’ai voulu utiliser cet adaptateur connecter avec mon iPhone vers hdmi de ma blackmagic atem mini pro, l’HDMI fonctionne quand je le branche 2 seconde puis plus rien. J’ai voulu connecter également un ssd Samsung T5 sur USB et lui ne fonctionne pas du tout. Sinon ça fonctionne très bien sur mon MacBook Pro.

The media could not be loaded.  Je suis très satisfait de cet adaptateur !Tout d'abord les finitions sont très bonnes, aluminium aspect très premium et robuste et même couleur que le gris sidéral d'Apple.Ensuite il fonctionne parfaitement, aucun soucis d'utilisation. Mon MacBook pro 13" charge quand on branche l'alimentation sur la prise thunderbolt 3 de l'adaptateur, le sortie vidéo en HDMI est de très bonne qualité et stable, et la prise USB 3.0 fonctionne très bien aussi, les transferts de fichiers sont rapides.L'adaptateur chauffe un peu mais c'est tout à fait normal, en tout cas ça ne perturbe absolument pas son bon fonctionnement.

Este producto lo compre para mi MacBook Pro touchbar 2017 4 thunderbolt, y funciona a la perfección, da una imagen nítida, puedes cargar el MacBook conectado al dispositivo, la transferencia de datos por el usb es muy rápida. La calidad con la que está fabricada es muy buena, el cable está hecho de nilon, el chasis de aluminio, y tiene un tacto premium. Es muy pequeño, se puede guarda en cualquier sitio. Es sin duda calidad precio.

Der Adapter kommt gut verpackt an, die Farbe entspricht in etwa dem Space Grey eines Macbooks. Für den Preis scheint die Verarbeitung gut zu sein, das Design gefällt!Zum Wichtigsten, der Funktionalität:+ Oft gibt es bei USB-Hubs Probleme mit Drahtlosempfängern für Mäuse/Tastaturen, weil billige Hubs oft den Empfang stören - bei diesem Adapter kein Problem!+ Der Adapter funktioniert bei meinem Windows-Laptop sowohl unter Windows 10 als auch unter Ubuntu (Linux) einwandfrei, USB, HDMI und auch die Stromübertragung.+ In puncto Stromübertragung ist noch hervorzuheben, dass der Adapter zwar warm, aber nicht unangenehm heiß wird. Schraubt man den Stromverbrauch zurück indem man den Energiesparmodus aktiviert, bleibt der Adapter überhaupt recht kühl. Absolut positiv. Ob wirklich 100 Watt Ladeleistung übertragen werden, konnte ich nicht überprüfen, da mein Laptop nur 65W braucht. Das funktioniert aber auf alle Fälle tadellos.Zwei kleine Kritikpunkte:~ Der USB-C-Stecker ist an meinem HP etwas schwergängig im Vergleich zum Originalkabel. Kennt man allerdings von div. Hubs und sollte langfristig hoffentlich keine Schäden hervorrufen.~ Der Hub selbst benötigt Strom, auch wenn der PC heruntergefahren ist. D.h., wenn man das Ladekabel aussteckt, wird der Akku auch im ausgeschaltenen Zustand langsam geleert. Ich kann aber nicht genau sagen, ob sich das seitens des Hub-Herstellers überhaupt lösen lässt, bei manchen Laptops kann man hier vermutlich eine Einstellung im BIOS treffen, in meinem Fall leider nicht.Zusammengefasst: Alle drei Anschlüsse funktionieren mit Windows und gängigen Linux-Distributionen, für mich verdiente fünf Sterne.

Tolles Produkt, Haptik genau so gut wie bei einem MacBook. Auch das Kabel macht einen sehr soliden Eindruck, alle Ein- und Ausgänge funktionieren super. Kaufempfehlung!
