Star Is Born (Original Soundtrack)

Time has shown what a wonderful masterpiece this movie's soundtrack provided. Streisand really did create and provide songs that have stood the test of time. Kristofferson'voice is strong and articulate and Streisand is perfection, as always

"A Star is Born" was made 3 times. The first was Esther becoming a famous actor under the wings of a legendary actor who was on his way out. That is the basic theme of all three movies. Old discovers new. The first starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. The latter two were musical versions. The first remake starred Judy Garland and James Mason (in one of his best roles). The 2nd remake is the one I purchased starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristopherson. The music is much more contemporary, even in today's market. Some wonderful love songs came out of this movie. The classic is "Evergreen" which is done as a BS solo and a duet with KK. There is unbelievable chemistry between the two of them. And BS's acting is wonderful and believable as a no one enjoying the steps to fame in the arms of her soulmate. It will bring you to tears as did the Judy Garland version. I highly recommend this for chick-flick night. The music is great and the plot keeps you intrigued.

Thank you!!! Great quality album and shipping was perfect. I am not an album collector, but I grew up with both the movie and the album being my mom's absolute favorite. She would stand on a living room stool and entertain my friends by imitating Barbara Streisand's "Queen Bee" and strutting and moving her head to "Watch Closely Now." I remember one friend, whose mom was a bit square, asked me if my mom would sing again for her. I went and told my mom, but I quietly begged her not to - for obvious reasons. My mom, promptly and defiantly, took her stool and sang Kris Kristofferson's "Hellacious Acres" in protest to my embarrassment. Needless to say, I never interfered with her "fans" again. This album brings back a lot of fond memories for me. Thank you!

I'm a huge Kris fan I have watched this over the years again and again. I loaned it and did not get it back and so could not be without.

In a minor way, I lived a bit of the drugs, sex, and rock and roll lifestyle. Only really for four years did I really rock it. After that it has been quieter. This story had two actors who I adore, and the characters were close to my heart. More of a nearly famous sort of life, a legend in my own mind. I did live in the drug smuggling/dealing world for a brief time, so brushed up against some music. Owned and rode a Harley Super Glide in the early '80's, so again had a brief career with a life style that I still cherish. The movie MASK with Cher and Sam Elliot also was a personal favorite as it reflected the bikers I knew and loved. Having seen the original A Star Is Born, this remake was refreshing, and timely. This album has some great performances from both artists.

Good price, arrived quickly but was not packaged well. 2 CDs were delivered, the other was cracked. Both CDs were a gift for my mother for her birthday.

I was worried since I ordered such an old album it wouldn’t be good quality, boy was I wrong. The album arrived quickly and is in great shape. I love it!! A Star is Born
