Highly recommended.
This book seeks to create "Aha!" moments for the reader. I've experienced a number of those myself as well as "Why didn't they just say so at school..." This book will not replace an EE education but it will supplement it nicely. I did notice some careless errors, like for the parallel resistance equation (should be 1/Rt=1/R1+1/R2+...) or where it says the half power point for the cap-based low-pass filter is at freq=1/RC when I believe it should be w=1/RC with w=2*pi*freq for the formula Xc=1/wc=R for half power. There were times where I felt the book could have explained things better or needed an extra diagram to illustrate the idea. I bought this book because I graduated three years ago and am still looking for my first job in electrical engineering. I agree strongly with the author about the need to refresh on the fundamentals and will take his advice on reviewing them every 6 months. I have only gotten through half of the book so far so I can only vouch for that, but I think this book is a very good, and humorous, read.

Necessary Read
This is a perfect side-by-side companion as you start taking circuit classes in electrical engineering. There's not much here on DSP or any digital communications but overall this book is perfect at keeping your feet on the ground while the teacher has your head swimming with math calculations. In my transistor class it was so convoluted that by the end I wasn't even sure how to use transistors in my designs but God knows I could do the math behind them in the event that I needed circuit analysis. I wish I would've had this book two years ago, but better late than never.Get this book, you won't regret it

This is the best book I have found to help me learn basic ...
Finally a "juice" book for non-juice people! This is the best book I have found to help me learn basic concepts. I wish I had this 40 years ago as a struggling cadet!

My top 10 books ever
If you every thought that science was difficult to understand, then you need to read this book. It not only explains concepts with analogies, moreover the practical application gives real world analysis of these magical things called electrons. It really helps to excite the passion for Electrical Engineering.

Great book for students
Just buy this book! It has helped me so much. If you are an electrical engineering, it is a very good reference book after college.

Great Book!
The book was very helpful. My background is Navy nuclear power, but I ended up operating the transmission grid for an electric utility.

Great concept, so-so final product
While the idea of the book is valuable, its organization and the author's writing style leave something to be desired. Glad I bought it, but it's a struggle to "get" the concepts as presented here.Stay in school!
