An excellent bike for the money but watch out for the Tourney Shimano set
I bought this bike in October of 2016. That was the very first bike I bought online, unseen, and untried. I am a good biker and have been biking for years (typically bike 25 miles per outing at 14 miles per hour). Many of my biking peers thought I was nuts to buy a bike online. However, my old steel frame Specialized Allez from 1991 was falling apart. The derailleur needed replacement, and bike frame was so old that the new derailleurs did not fit. Where I live most bike stores sell only very expensive road bikes. I thought there must be a better way from a value/performance standpoint to acquire a new bike.Buying a bike online was a fantastic experience. Bike measurements are really simple. Just go with the manufacturer's recommendation in terms of frame size given one's height. That's what I did. And, the fit was perfect. The bike has an aluminum frame and a carbon fork. My friends were pushing for me to get an all carbon frame for a much smoother, comfortable, and responsive ride. Several even advanced that aluminum frames are not as good as my old bike steel frame that they suggested was a real keeper. However, I can share that my firsthand experience really contradicts that. This aluminum frame bike rides very well very smoothly and more so than my old bike steel frame. When I got the bike I got it assembled at one of my local bike store for $85 (well worth it to me). They indicated that the original tires were not the best. So, I splurged and got two tires that are very good in preventing flats. The original seat also is ok. But, I exchanged it with a good seat on my old bike. Those couple of enhancements were really important to me. They may not be to you.As an update, I soon experienced debilitating problems with the front gear shifting lefthand side mechanism of the Shimano Tourney set. In my mind, this is a real weak spot with this bike configuration. I got it replaced with an old fashioned top-of-the-bar gear shifter (while keeping the Shimano gear shifting on the righthand side that works just fine). Now, everything is in good shape. And, I love this bike.
