This Repairs CDs & DVDs Only. DO NOT USE ON BLURAY DISCS!
This product has been all around great for me thus far. Using this device consists of the simplest three step process: Spray some fluid onto the disc so it is properly lubricated, insert the disc into the machine and turn it on, and then eject the disc once it does two complete revolutions. I've tested about 7 PS2 discs using this device, using the batteries included inside of the box, and it has removed most if not all of the scratches on my pre-owned PS2 discs. I would say my discs had light to moderate scratches, but nothing too heavy for this device to handle obviously. If your discs are heavily scratched then this option probably isn't for you, but for lightly scratched to moderately scratched discs this device is phenomenal. Just remember to keep your discs properly lubricated, and don't have them run for more than two revolutions at a time, and you'll be satisfied so long as your discs don't have the appearance of being clawed by a bear to begin with. Also if you notice that the wheel on the device is slowing down considerably you should probably change the batteries, use AC Adapter, or simply give the thing a brake so the motor doesn't wear out. UPDATE 1 (IMPORTANT): I recently contacted digital innovations due to the fact that the buff square was not included with the purchase of this product. Customer service was very delightful and prompt, and I was informed to not use this device with BluRay discs at the end of it all. It turns out that this device is for CDs and DvDs only! If you attempt to use this device with a BluRay disc, it can potentially damage it! If you want to repair a BluRay disc, you need to get the corresponding replacement wheel to fix that specific type of disc. This really isn't emphasized enough in the instructions given, but merely on the back of box towards the very bottom. Honestly it's best to go to digitalinnovations.com, and order the correct replacement wheels from there for a reasonable price. By the way I recommend this AC adapter if you need some extra added power to the SkipDr: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015MQ8NA0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 UPDATE 2: This device has paid for itself already completely! On top of removing the scratches from my PS2 discs, which are NON BluRay discs, I also ordered myself a copy of Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the PS2 that was in "not working condition." Getting a mediocre working copy of Tenkaichi 3 that only includes a copy of the game can easily cost you at least $50, and so getting the game plus the case and cover art for $25 was quite a steal. Nonetheless I ran it through the SkipDr multiple times, and it worked like new! I give this product an A+++, and if I could give it 10 out of 5 stars I honestly would.

Great idea - destroyed my DVD - maybe I didn't buff hard enough!
This is a great idea, a hope to restore an important DVD. It has an abrasive wheel that creates radial buffing of the DVD ... which is the way it should be done, probably to eliminate circumferential scratches. First of all, the quality of the device is fairly low. The whole device wobbled when the power was turned on, but still worked. I had a DVD that could read some tracks but not others. Putting that DVD through this device made the DVD completely unreadable. The radial scratch/buff marks that it put on the DVD were so severe that it could no longer be read. To be fair -- the directions ask you to buff out the DVD by hand radially as well, the more you buff the better it should become... but I put in a lot of work and it wasn't good enough -- DVD was unreadable. So from my experience, this device completely destroyed the DVD from a half readable DVD to one that does not work at all.

Works well if used a certain way, not exactly as the directions say....
I started with the hand cranked version as it was cheaper and I was skeptical after reading all of the reviews. I figured if it could help even just 3-4 movies that would have otherwise needed to just be replaced then it was worth it, it worked great after I got the hang of how to use it and I deviated from the directions a little. I decided to invest in this one as we have a couple hundred, more or less, kids movies. This one is even better because I am hands free so it can keep going while I spray it to keep it wet. The wetter the better! Thats where I deviated from the directions, they say to "spray lightly then let it make 2 evolutions around then take it out and wipe then buff" I started by experimenting on a couple of disks that I knew were not fixable because the backs of the disks were scratched as bad as the front. I don't like how little spray they include but any spray made for cleaning eyeglasses (the kind thats safe for plastic lens') works just as well. If it gets even a little dry it will make the disk hazy with the sanding, if it's kept really wet it works great! I spray heavily before starting then keep spraying the top as it comes around to go down again. I do not wait for it to make 2 evolutions before spraying again, I usually let it go around 3-4x this way depending on how scratched it is. Then I clean and buff as it says and if it needs more I do it again. Whatever you do don't be frugal with the spray! Better to use more than needed than not enough. To finish up after everything I buff it with an extremely small amount of liquid wax. Only a drop on the cloth for the whole disk (That step isn't necessary, I just like it personally). I did go ahead and invest in a power cord as I have no interest in keeping up with batteries. They have them on amazon for $5-8 or so. Definitely worth picking up if you plan on using this a lot as I do. I moved the wheel and stuff from my other SkipDr to this one to save the new one for extra. No, this isn't something you can use if you want to be able to sell disks as it does leave faint markings but its great for personal use especially if you have kids that are just now getting old enough to understand proper disk care. I have improved everything I have used this on that was salvageable. Most of them run smooth all the way through now. A small number still skip or freeze in a place or 2 for a second or so then keep going. Those were the disks that used to either just get stuck and stay frozen or had to be jumped way ahead to keep them going before. So they are still greatly improved! Both of these things have already paid for themselves 2-3x over at this point! For us, for our kids movies, this was most definitely worth it! The wheels also last longer than they are said to last if you keep the disk really wet and take the wheel off and gently rinse it off every once in a while I have noticed. I have used it on 36 movies so far and am still using the wheel from the first hand cranked SkipDr on this model. I haven't used it on anything but the kids DVDs so I can't say how well it does for games or bluray or anything as those items have always been off limits to the kids handling so they are all in great condition. They do watch the DVDs in the bluray player though and it has no issues reading them.

it works if your expectations are reasonable
This a good little device. I have been able to recover several CDs that would no longer play without skipping. That being said, it is not a miracle worker. This tool works by removing material from the disc surface. If the scratches are too deep you're out of luck. Scratches that run parallel to the circumference of the disc, with the direction of rotation, are much harder to deal with than those that run from the inside to the outside, perpendicular to the disc's rotation. Also, if the damage is to the painted, label side of the disc, no amount of polishing the readable side of the disc will fix it. 4 stars instead of 5 because it really should include a dc power supply.

Ai bien reçu le produit mais contrairement au titre et à la photo, n'est pas un SkipDrX pour la réparation des Blu-Ray. C'est un Skip Dr exclusivement pour les CD et DVD. J'ai renvoyé le produit.

Updated review. More successful repairs and it remains to be seen if the mechanism is durable. I’ve read other reviews concerning poor standards of construction but so far so good. I recommend this product. I needed to refurbish / repair cds - some many years old. I repaired one disc that had several skip areas. Read and followed the instructions. Clearly described steps to be followed and precautions to be taken. Perfect result with one treatment.

Come si può immaginare non fà miracoli, toglie i graffi ma non quelli troppo profondi.
