Necoichi Kimono Bow Tie Cat Collar (Red)

The media could not be loaded.  I was very excited to purchase this collar for my new cat, and the collar arrived exactly as advertised. The material of the collar was more weighty than I expected, and the band is exactly 1/2 inch wide. The width and thickness of the collar are enough to cause minor irritation to my cat. It needs to be shifted around occasionally and the neck needs brushing if you don't want a hair loss line where the collar would be on your cat's neck, but I have experienced this problem with other collars as well.This collar is NOT a good size for smaller and thin necked cats. My cat's neck is about 8 inches, and I found this collar to be exceedingly too long. It was tightened all the way and I could still stick 4 fingers in between comfortably. I caught him with the collar in between his mouth on three separate occasions, and over the first two weeks his collar would pop off no less than once a day. I would have returned the collar because of that alone, but luckily I have a handy friend who shortened the collar by an inch, and he hasn't taken it off since then (it's been over a week). The breakaway buckle is not particularly strong, but now that my cat can no longer get a chin or a foot lodged in, it seems able to hold through his fidgeting.I have looked at many bow tie collars, and one of the nicest features of this collar, in particular, is that the bell is centered under the bow tie, rather than off to the side like many of its competitors. The bell sounds exactly like any other cat collar I have bought at Petsmart. I thought that the bell would be removable like some of Necoichi's other collars that I considered purchasing, but it is on a standard D ring, hooked onto the ring of fabric that collects the bow tie. If you really wanted to, you could remove it, but you would need pliers or a strong grip. I was also momentarily disappointed that there was no separate ring for an ID tag, but I slid his tag ring through the fabric band under the bell's D ring, and it looks very dapper.The bow tie was stiff and nicely starched, but not overly wide, so some cats may not mind it as much as other bow tie collars. But if you have a less tolerant cat, and/or they are not used to collars (like mine), I would definitely start with something of a lighter weight, and without the obstruction of a bow tie. It should be noted that the bow tie is fixed in place on the collar and is not meant to slide around or be removed. The stiffness is completely lost once the collar gets wet, which happened after a messy encounter with the water bowl, and my cat managed to pull the bow through the fabric band that it was fit through after he got out of the collar. I was able to stuff it back into place pretty easily, but it is definitely flatter than when I first purchased the collar. I have had to pick the bow up after it had fallen off at least 3 times, but again, after both adjusting the collar, and having the additional tag ring in the fabric band, the bow tie has stayed in place so far.A final consideration with bow tie collars is, if the bow isn't centered on the chest of the cat, it easily switches from looking masculine to feminine, especially with a floral print. Aesthetically, I appreciated that the buckle was placed right next to the bow, which hid its bulkiness, and along with the bell & ID tag, weighted the bow tie down to the collarbone of my male cat, except when he gets annoyed and scratches at it.Overall, nice collar. Very pretty design, but is thicker than some and should be properly fitted to minimize problems and damage.

Size:Collar size is also big enough for my slightly chubby cat.Material:The material is good enough to withstand his intensive licking.I don't think this is the "authentic" kimono material. But that doesn't affect the fact that this is a good collar.If it's actually kimono material then I don't think it will be tough enough for cat collar.It's also a very beautiful red color that I got.Breakaway collar:Even though my cat is indoor. Breakaway collar is still important to us.This does not have the common oval breakaway buckle you see on most pet store breakaway collar.It's rectangular and works more like a hiking bag buckle.However, it works as an breakaway collar. I tried pulling on it. It's a little hard the first time. But it will open given enough force.My cat has also taken it off 3 times when he feels like it."It is a breakaway collar"It's little pricey.If you are someone who is willing to pay for the vivid color, good quality, need a breakaway collar, or you have a semi large cat this will be a good collar for you.I might not get another one due to the price and also I think it will last long as long as my cat doesn't hide it somewhere I can't find.

Prettiest collar's I have another version, but I will say this the quality isn't made very well. I got this one because it seemed sturdier for our new kitten but she still managed to break the bow off. If you have a lazy cat that just lays around I think they will look elegant and adorable! I will definitely buy again when our new baby calms down. I will also add the kimono material is sturdy, so I know the glue must not have been up to par with our new baby. It fits small kittens, she is >5 months and rather petite. Also this is a break away! It seams like other reviews think it isn't due to the style of the latch, it is she has broken out of it, I also tested it before just to be safe! Great collar. It looks cute even without the bow! So I have few complaints!

I ordered two collars from this company and absolutely love both! The quality of the collars is much higher than similar products I have bought in pet stores. They are crafted with care and look expensive. My kitty has only been wearing this one for about a week, so I can't say much about wear and tear. I'll update my review if it seems to fall apart quickly, but I don't think it will. The stitching is high quality as is the fabric.One special note for people getting this in regards to the bell. It seems to jingle more than other bell collars I have had in the past. My kitty doesn't seem to mind it, and I don't either. Helps me keep track of her! It is firmly attached and won't come off easily like the bells on cheaper collars, yet you would be able to pry it off if you put some effort into it. I'm not worried about my kitty removing it accidentally, but I did remove the bell on the other collar I bought because my mom's cat hates bell collars.

The collar is very pretty however the buckle on it is very weak and comes off very easily

I bought this collar for my cats. One in purple and one in red. They are indoor cats and normally don't wear collars, but we were traveling and I needed a collar to take them through the airport. Of course there are plenty of standard collars to choose from, but I figured if I'm finally getting them a collar, I want it to be special. They are absolutely adorable. I was scared at first that the bow would interfere with their day-to-day but it doesn't as all. My girls have gotten plenty of compliments on their collars.

This collar is absolutely gorgeous. The material is nice and doesn't irritate my cat, the bell is just the right level of noise, and the print is beautiful!All this would make for a perfect product if it wasnt for the fact it's too small! I did measure my cats neck and was sure it would fit, but it's very loose, so she can't actually wear it!

Super süss und top Qualität! Aber Sie haben mir leider anstelle von rot, das schwarze geschickt. Ging auch noch, aber rot steht meinem scharzen Kater einfach besser^^
