New to whetstone
I had never attempted to sharpen anything with a whetstone before but I had a 13ish year old Wuthof santuku that I thought was probably done for so I gave it a try. A couple YouTube videos and an hour or so of sharpening at a slow pace to maintain my angle and the knife is back in the rotation. I would not say I got it razor sharp but it is cutting through ripe tomatoes with just the weight of the knife so I would say this is a good product to use. I'm sure I can get better edges with more practice.

I have sharp knives again
Thanks to this my old knives I was ready to throw out are working at better than new quality. This is something that you should definitely try. The guides are nice to have but since they’re magnetic something you can bump them off. This would be during moving the item and not during use, at least that I have noticed. This product is definitely worth the cost, but is not as easy to use as the hand held sharpeners you pull the blade through. With that being said they are much sharper with this method of sharpening.

Love our Work Sharp Knife Sharpener!
Joe Maynard recommended this to us, and it did not disappoint! My son is a chef and was looking for one, he got it, set it up, quickly, with the easy to follow directions, and was able to sharpen all of his chef caliber knives! He was very impressed, and he is hard to impress! 🤣 Thanks for an awesome product!

The perfect first whetstone.
I've always sharpened with diamond plates and ceramic rods, and have been hesitant to try a whetstone because I knew that if done incorrectly, you can really screw up a blade. I have to say that if you're new to this method, the Work Sharp whetstone is definitely the place to start. It's super easy to use, the stone seems high quality, and the base provides stability for a beginner like me – all for an incredibly reasonable price. After sharpening just a couple of kitchen knives, I have much more confidence using this whetstone and achieving some really impressive edges on the rest of my knives.
