James Herriot's Treasury for Children[JAMES HERRIOTS TREAS FOR CHILD][Hardcover]

I love all of James Herriot's books. The first in a series of four that he wrote long ago is entitled "All Creatures Great and Small." If you haven't read this book (and the other 3 that follow), you are missing a wonderful treat. The writer (Herriot is a pseudonym) was a veterinarian in Yorkshire, England, beginning in the 1930's after he completed his education in Glasgow, Scotland. These books make you laugh one minute and cry the next. They are based on Herriot's real life experiences as a vet. The "Treasury for Children" is a very good book and one I bought for my young nephews to savor until they are old enough to read the other books.

This was a book for my 6 year old granddaughter, who this month wants to be a veterinarian! I still love my time when we sit and read, knowing that is short lived.

Voted by my 6 and 7 year olds as their favorite school book.

I love James Herriot and his wonderful books, so I was delighted to find this edition of his stories told in a more child-friendly way. The illustrations are absolutely lovely. My son, who is five, is especially fond of it because he adores animals. This is a true keeper.

If you like true storys, with realistic looking art, I think I have just the book for you! James herriot's Treasury for Children. It has mini storys about animals who he helped or met. I give this book 5 stars ***** out of 5! If you want to find out how he cares for the animals, you just have to read it!- E.K. age 7
