These stencils are just like described and look easy to use for the price I paid.

Nice instruction booklet with the Sashio stencils! Van hardly wait to start learning the Japanese craft of Sashiko!

Too small to use with pen
Stencils are too small for even a small marking pen/pencil. Unfortunately these are unusable. Stitches are also extremely close together, I would have had to skip a stitch each time if I were able to get a pen to work marking them. I considered buying washable paint since the pen wouldn't work with these, but I think the tiny amount of bleeding that would occur on cotton would blend the lines together because they were too close together. Loved the designs, material, etc. otherwise.

Easy to use!
I had never used stencils for Sashiko before and it was really easy and fun!I was able to adapt these to transform preprinted designs into more complicated patterns.
