Accuracy test
A previous reviewer said "It is off by 1-3 degrees at 45 and 0 degrees." I found this hard to believe, so I bought one and checked its accuracy with my original Sutherland Tool bevel boss. It agreed with it at several angles. Next, I checked it with my four Starrett combination squares, one of them a compass square. Again, it agreed. The third check was to make a few triangles with the Taytools guage and check them using trigonometry. Again, the tool was accurate. This is an accurate tool. Perhaps the previous reviewer is 1-3 degrees off! The only difference between this tool and the bevel boss, is that the ruler on this tool measures thirty seconds, instead of sixteenths, does not appear to be stainless (very magnetic) and is not a satin finish. This tool is 12.004 inches long and 3.002 inches wide.

Great for your bevel blade
If you have a bevel blade, you need this setting gauge. It makes setting your angle very easy. It is made of a great quality stainless steel, and is very durable. I highly recommend this Taytools bevel setting gauge.

Well worth buying
Clear, precise etched markings, much more legible than a typical protractor.

Accurate with handy rules on the back
The angles are accurate as measured with a Starrett protractor. The body is 3" wide and 12" long, with a hole for hanging centered on one end. The edges are very smooth and rounded for safe handling. All markings are etched, so they will not wear off, and will remain easy to read for years. My only (very minor) complaint is that the finish is a little too polished for easy reading. A bit more satin would make it easy to read from any angle in any light.Easy to miss in the picture in this listing, there is a 3" ruler along the bottom edge of the front. Also, the backside is not pictured at all, and they made good use of that space. There is a reversible 12" imperial ruler (inch markings read 1-11, 2-10, 3-9, 4-8, 5-7, 6, 7-5, etc) on one long edge, and on the other is a metric centering ruler (0 in the center, moving out to 15 cm at either end).I have a hand plane made by Taytools, and it is truly outstanding (Lee Nielsen level quality). So, I was expecting the excellent build on this simple little gauge. But I was very pleasantly surprised by the rulers on the back. I may be reaching for this more often than I expected. Well done.

This item exceeds my expectations
I like the heft this bevel gauge provides. It is thick enough that I won't need to worry about it bending too easily while it's in my tool pocket and yet thin enough to be easy to work with. Because the individual degrees have a little bit of distance between them, it's easy to be accurate with setting up the bevel gauge.

Accuracy
When compared to Incra, General, and other tools in my shop, it is off by 1-3 degrees at 45 and 0 degrees.

Accurate and easy to use
This gauge works well to measure angles or to determine an angle using a sliding bevel gauge. I have used it in a few different projects and it is very accurate.
