Thule Coaster XT 2-Seat Bicycle Trailer & Stroller

This was easy to set up, rides really smoothly, and feels sturdy. It’s such a quiet trailer that it would be easy to forget you’re pulling it, if not for the kids inside. It’s perfect for bike rides and I attached it to our bike in less than five minutes with a socket wrench. It works well as a stroller but not as well for jogging, because the front wheel rattles if there’s not enough weight toward the front (I kind of had to lift the handle to add some pressure up front while I jogged to keep it from wiggling). The wheels came pumped and ready to go, which was nice. It also has a pretty large storage area behind where the kids sit, large enough for a beach bag or groceries.

The trailer is heavier than it looks, but assembly is easy, and it folds up small enough to fit inside our modestly sized trunk. I looked at a lot of reviews for bike trailers, and this one was the most affordable option that still had all the features I cared about (converts to stroller, built in rain shield, cargo space, 5-point harnesses). The ride is smooth too, especially considering this trailer does not have built-in suspension. The seller, Healthcheck Systems Inc., was incredible too. My order somehow ended up in another part of the country due to a shipping error (that wasn’t their fault). Healthcheck sent me a replacement that arrived even earlier than I expected the original.

This bike trailer also doubles as a double stroller. I put both of my girls in it and actually walk long distance. The parking break is excellent. The rain cover is also excellent. Overall the material is heavy duty. Can’t wait to attached it to my bike. The instructions to attached it to a bike are not the easiest to set up at first. One the attachment piece is set up to your bike it is a breeze to attach it.

I love this bike trailer, as do both my kids. We live in NYC, and this trailer was a game-changer for us, it's almost as though we have a car! My two kids fit comfortably, and we can store all our gear in the "trunk" in the back. Most importantly, this trailer is SAFE! My daughter and I were recently in a bike accident, where I flipped over my handlebars and fell in the street. After I hit the ground, I was able to flip over and watch the Thule trailer slowly tip over. I broke both my arms and my bike was ruined, but my daughter (and the Thule!) were without a scratch. I am so grateful to Thule for making this trailer, and for keeping my family comfortable and safe in NYC!

Take our word for it... don't buy the cheap versions. Go right for the Thule. This trailer is amazing. Our kids are comfortable in it, there's plenty of room to bring whatever you need, and switching it to a stroller on the go is a game changer. We bought a couple cheaper ones and they were garbage. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the hook to turn the stroller wheel under is SUPER hard to unhook. Everything else about it is easy though.

Got this really cheap on Black Friday! Just wanted a bike trailer and sometimes a stroller for my 4year old. It is an light version of a Thule, no reclining eg… but this was what I was looking for. Lots of storage in the back, easy to fold, good in rain or if cold outside. Also very easy to navigate when used as a stroller. If you look for a cheap trailer in good and sturdy quality and not a lot of features needed, go for this one!

I ended up returning this because the safety buckle kept coming un done. CONS: The Instructions are very difficult to understand. They aren’t very detailed and the pictures are a very dark grayscale. So, you can’t actually see anything. The buckle design is difficult to use because you have to hold both sides together while slotting it in the buckle. Which is difficult with fussy or chubby kids. The angle of the seat is very upright, and the child's legs stick straight out, which is very uncomfortable for them. We opted to purchase a trailer with a footwell, so their knees bend at a 90 degree angle. The brakes are easy to disengage and difficult to engage because you have to either reach down or squeeze your foot between the trailer and the wheel. PROS: It’s very compact, especially the fold, and the fold is Sooooo easy. It also converts from a stroller to a trailer extremely easily. The shoulder strap placement and design allows for a more diverse size range than most trailers. Short kids will be secure. The storage compartment cover can fold forward and attach to velcro for additional sun shade.

This is our second product from Thule. We have twins and we are constantly outdoors. We got a double stroller that we used from when they were 3 months until now they are 2 1/2. My husband wanted to go biking with them so we decided to get the Thule Coaster XT Bicycle Trailer, we love it! He bikes long distances, and on many hills, and our kids are super happy and excited to ride all the time. It has a lot of space for them and for storage. I think we will be THULE customers for life, their products are safe, beautiful and super practical and easy to use. As parents that have to constantly have all eyes on the kids, knowing that you don't have to spend time figuring out how to use something in a hurry is such a relief.
