Decent LTE router has CA capability so more than one cell can be connected if in range, easy to install external antennas to. Could.use more channels for lte. This is definitely a router, ethernet port 1 is for WAN access like a cable modem etc, but if your buying an lte router you probably don't have a cable.modem. there are so many options its unreal, mesh, lte, relay , ap point to point etc.

Enterprise Router with LTE Capabilities
Mikrotik makes amazing routers. This is an enterprise router capable of handling gigabit traffic without breaking the bank or breaking a sweat. However, configuring the router is not an intuitive or easy task. The first thing that you need to know about THIS particular router is that it MAY come set up as an LTE router from the factory. All 5 ports are BRIDGED together and to get it to work as a typical SMB router you MUST remove/disable whichever port you want to connect to your Internet modem from the BRIDGE before doing anything else. Then you can do the "Quick Set" to help you set up the base settings. If you didn't understand what I just wrote about, you should probably choose another router. This router has a tremendous number of configuration details that make it both incredible and fairly complicated to administer unless you are EXTREMELY familiar and comfortable with networking concepts. My only complaint would be the lack of analytics built into the UI. Otherwise, this is a 5-star router.

Poor design.
Poor designed the build-in LTE antennas and lack of slots to connect external antennas make this product almost useless. 500 ft from the Verizon tower and I get 5/2 Mbps where my 3 years old phone get 80/20 Mbps. Constantly dropping mobile connections. Mikrotik makes great routerers but not this model.

Great "Access Point"
Some where in the description it needs to specify that this product is an "access point" and not the current title that says Wireless Dual-Band "router" replace router with access point. I suppose I should have known that from the pictures but on some products Mikrotik doesn't label "port 1" as a universal ethernet port. With that being said, I was able to get internet with this when I plugged it into my switch on port 1. I was then able to use other 4 ethernet ports, which makes sense because when connected to my switch the gateway is addressed. I ordered this as a replacement to my existing router thinking that it had some option to plug a modem directly to it via ethernet port 1 but it doesn't work. description is misleading. You can however plug this up with your existing network in your home to have a better Wi-Fi signal in another room or use the LTE option to plug your existing sim card from your phone into it and give multiple devices internet. I am sure this is a great product if you're looking for an access point or mobile phone router.
