Good for basic needs
I purchased this for my 11 year old son to start learning the basics of drumming... assembled this in no time, stand itself seems pretty sturdy and head itself is sturdy as well. Drum skin seems like it will last a long time with a ton of use.The angle adjustment for the head to connect to the stand is sub-par. It's steel on steel and the butterfly screw is not easy to use with bare hands, in fact I have to use a wrench to loosen or tighten it as hand tightening will not work. Even with the wrench, it feels like if I tighten too much I might break the unit. Remo should have created a plastic knob of some sort with a rubber washer to be able to tighten and loosen easier. I can't imagine it would have cost much more to solve that issue. I would have given the unit 4 or5 stars, but this is a pretty big issue for me.

Pad is seriously WAY too loud - but stand is solid
I have a Benny Greb Masterpad from MEINL that sounds and feels great but doesn't have a rim, so the technique I developed on it made it difficult to translate to a real snare because I kept hitting the rim and getting accidental rim shots. Sigh.I mounted the Benny Greb pad on the cheapest stand I could find on Amazon, which was called "MagiDeal." MISTAKE. One plastic knob came completely rounded off and I had to use a pliers to tighten it. This then snapped off entirely after 4 months, allowing the practice pad to swivel freely. This is garbage. So I bought this Remo pad and stand thinking it would be an upgrade because the Remo pad has a rim and adjustable tension. The pad, however, is way WAY too loud and sounds like a street "musician" hitting a garbage pail with drum sticks. It's not just that's it's loud, it sounds horrible - like sharp plastic hitting your ear drums. It's noticeably louder than my actual snare drum, which has a 14" Roland MH2 mesh head. This Remo pad is almost guaranteed to hurt your ears and piss off neighbors and spouses. I wish the Remo pad had an option for a rubbery head like the Benny Greb pad.Unfortunately, the Benny Greb pad doesn't fit in the stock bolt on the Remo stand, so I'm stuck with a pad I like on a broken stand and a pad I hate on a solid stand. I'll need to get a separate mounting bolt to make this work, so the lack of standard mounting bolt sizes is also a minus here.Ugh, what a hassle for something as silly as a practice pad.Follow-up: I was able to buy an adapter to mount the Benny Greb pad to the REMO stand: it was from McMaster-Carr and it was product number 91649A149 which has description: "Black-Oxide Steel Male-Female Hex Thread Adapter, M8 x 1.25 mm to 1/4"-20 Thread Size". Here's the link:https://www.mcmaster.com/91649A149This is the proper adapter to mount the Benny Greb pad which has an M8 thread to the REMO stand which has a 1/4" 20 thread. Now I have the good MEINL pad on the good REMO stand, and this is the best setup! McMaster-Carr sent me the adapter overnight with no shipping during the COVID outbreak, which is incredible!

great price. delivered on time.
great price. delivered on time. a bit noisier than expected, but not loud. I chose this one rather than the similar model with the Silentstroke head because I wanted a more realistic feel.

Great Product
This is not a toy. My 11 yo grandson practices everyday on it. Key allows tuning and tightness of head. Stable reasl drum stand. Should give years of practice and warmup sessions.

nice sound and feel, good price
This practice pad was recommended to me by my son's drum instructor. It has a very nice feel (bounce) to it, and the sound is WAY better than listening to a snare drum all night. The price offered by Amazon for both the practice pad and the stand was very good (I believe about $45.00). In some stores, just the pad alone is about $32.00, and you'll definitely want the stand (any hi-hat stand will probably work). There are varying sizes and you will probably want the biggest size, which I believe is the 10 inch - just to give yourself a few different targets while practicing. Set up was extremely easy.

Good stand, questionable pad.
I've used several practice pads over the years. This one I held onto for about 6 months before giving it away to someone on craigslist. The pad noise and feel were just so off as to be unusable. The allure of a practice pad is drumming without annoying your neighbors. At this, the Remo practice pad fails spectacularly. The pad is really, really loud. The head is as loud as a regular drum with a cheap muffler on it. The rim hits are pretty loud too. And the stand drives this sound straight down to your downstairs neighbors. Most anything else you've been hitting our sticks against will be quieter than this, including books, chairs, mousepads, standard cheap rubber practice pads, etc.In terms of size, 10" is barely a popcorn snare. This is significant because the edges stick up a great deal: far more than most drum sets I've used. In certain ways this is helpful to develop your targeting, but it also means that you're constantly whacking the edges and cursing instead of focusing on technique. Frankly, I found rim hits to be a constant annoyance. The feel is hard to quantify, but all of the remo practice pads that I've used just "feel" close but off. It feels like someone stuffed a pillow as tightly as they could into a snare. The rebound style is good, but there is a deadness to it that just feels wrong. While it is helpful to have an adjustable drum head, it never quite gets right. The stand, on the other hand, has been pretty solid and nice to have. I could see transitioning the stand into a real drum set, albeit holding something light.Overall, the resounding loudness, weird rebound issues, and annoyingly large rim make it hard to recommend Remo's higher priced pads over traditional rubber ones. For basic paradiddles and other practicing in real-world circumstances, I'd recommend going with one of the many other available options.

Good solid pad
This is a very sturdy and heavy pad and stand with good sound and bounce. Much better than the less expensive versions I tried.

great beginner pad for a new drummer in the family
Very durable -my grandson practices every day with this and after almost a year, is still holding up very well. I would highly recommend this product.

Great to deal with...
Gotta love when stuff comes before you expect! In great condition. To my door. Got the 8" but was a bit bigger than my previous one so I probably had a 6". Minor quibble originated on my end. FANTASTIC!
