Zombies: A Record of the Year of Infection Paperback – October 14, 2009

Awesome artwork accompanies this journal type book. It is a good take on a zombie book as it really does feel as if you are flipping through someone's journal. The only reason I took away a star is because I think this book would be amazing if reprinted on distressed paper and had a weathered journal cover.

I saw this book inside a store and it look interesting and it had great art. My mistake was that I forgot the title and when I came back to buy the book I had a really hard time finding it. To my surprise the book was always sold out. When I got my kindle I was able to buy it and when I did I couldn't out it down. From beginning to end the book kept you wanting to read because you didn't know what was going to happen next. The art kept your creative mind working and the tone of the book kept you wanting more. Great read... I wish there was more of this one.Michael

I don't call this a graphic novel. It's more like a very does descriptive Novella. Enjoyed it. Would have given more stars but needed some editing and too short

Think of this book as a personal journal of a person living through a zombie plague that has spread through the world and decides to document everything that this person encounters. Great use of imagination and descriptive narration will awesome drawings throughout the book. Two thumbs up!!!

Too bland—adds nothing to zombie literature. No surprises—follows the typical storyline. Quick read disappointing ending.Good for a one nite stand.

We used this as a textbook for my Technical Writing class in college and it was interesting. It is well written and very detailed.

Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because $9.99 is a bit pricey for a kindle ebook, especially one this short. That being said, this was a great freakn zombie book. I really enjoyed it and the ending left me a little breathless! I recommend this book to anyone with an extra 10 bucks to spend!

Pretty entertaining. Paints an interesting picture of what could happen. I enjoyed the writing style, it seemed like a journal definitely.

This is written as the diary of a clinical scientist, who is initially trapped inside his work environment while the zombie infection starts. The protagonist is also a talented artist, so each page has pictures as well as text. The underlying story is the revelation of how the zombie infection began, along with the scientist's journey to try to find both answers, and a place of safety.For fans of the zombie genre - this is a good book, and is broadly faithful to the accepted pattern of zombie behaviour - with a few tweaks.

Bought as a holiday read, but noticed when it arrived that it wouldn't have even lasted me for a short flight, so read it in about 30mins at home. I'm quite new to this whole zombie business, having been dragged into it by my partner, but this book didn't even include anything new for me. The pictures are about the only thing, that is worth a quick look.

I bought this book for my son for Christmas and read it before I gave it him. It took me about an hour to read and I am not a fast reader. There are a lot of illustrations and large print so it doesn't take long to read. It reads like this is a true story, you can believe it if you want or not. I wouldn't say its too scary either. If you like this sort of stuff its worth a read.

Enjoyable Zombie romp - the glossy book and pictures make this book. Worth splashing out on and my wife says the pictures make her feel sick. So you know it's good!

Great book, lovely illustrations

Good pictures, story pretty standard. Would have liked more detail. Bit annoying that a book subtitled A Record of the YEAR of Infection suddenly stops in March!

Was soll ich dazu schreiben? Ich bin begeister. Das Buch ist super gestaltet und macht im allgemeinen sehr viel her. Wer Bücher mit grafischer Untermalung mag ist genau richtig. Es gibt mir als Leser das Gefühl in einen Tagebuch zu lesen. Ich empfehle dieses Buch ganz klar weiter.

This was a fun book about a zombie outbreak. The cause is revealed to be some sort of food additive, but despite repeatedly mentioning that it's trying to be scientific, this makes no sense. At least the hero of the story generally realizes this. The writing was reasonably well done, and the characters were decent. The story begins with a bang, as 90% of the world falls ill and become zombies. The first month is explained in great detail, then the journal entries become more and more infrequent. Which is a shame, because the book begins to move very quickly and glosses over more and more details until it ends in kind of a silly way. I won't spoil the ending other than to say that the book is much too short. If it takes you more than an hour to read it cover to cover, I'd be surprised. Despite being 144 pages, in regular type, in a large format, most of the journal entries are only part of the page long, so you have lots of blank space. The drawings are interesting, but they're not top-notch by any means. The writing was of much higher quality than most of the other zombie books I've read (MUCH better than Max Brooks' books).So if you're looking for a fun, well-written, but VERY brief foray into the world of zombies, this is a reasonable choice. If you're like me though, you'll probably end up a little disappointed that this book isn't longer. It certainly doesn't live up to its title of "record of the year of infection." It's really the "record of most of January, plus about 15 other entries".

Great book

Not worth the money, not even for children, quite simple

Drawings are like doodles I did when I was 12, the writing is really poor and the storyline is weak.Really disappointed.
