Some Pros and Cons...
The media could not be loaded. I bought this product because I have a cat in renal failure and we need to do everything possible to keep her hydrated. She LOVES drinking water out of the faucet if we turn the water to a small trickle.Obviously we can't just keep the faucet on all the time because it would be a huge waste of water, it would cost a lot of money and it would add to the burden of the septic tank pump so the fact that this product had an adjustable water flow valve that showed pictures of it with just a small trickle was one of the main draws to this product. Here are the Pros: it has an adjustable water flow, the motor is VERY quiet, the water level "Min" and "Max" are clearly marked and visible (which is important for you to keep an eye on so that you do not ruin your pump), it has a very pretty purple night light option (although that probably doesn't matter to the cat and is more for us humans) and, overall it has a nice designHere are the Cons: I have mixed feelings about the quality. It seems like most of the parts are of very good quality however, there were a couple of issues:First, when we were originally putting it together we had a lot of difficulty lining up the circular "tube" at the bottom of the water tower liner with the one coming from the pump which is "sectioned" to a designated space in the base and hidden by the tower. We had to monkey a bit with that to get it to fit properly. If you have this problem try scooting the pump as far to the front as you can (there are "walls" that sort of hold the pump in the base which are in the way) and you can tilt it slightly (a tiny amount) and if it's still not quite lined up, wiggle the water tower insert a little.Second, we had problems with the adjustable water flow valve. My son is an awesome nerd and so he understood what the problem was and we were able to fix it: There is an oval hole inside the water tower liner on the backside of where the clear "gear" water flow regulating valve is and I won't explain the whys, but this is directly connected to how the water adjustment "gear" valve works... and this is where the other area of sketchy quality comes in... the oval hole had not been properly "molded" (or cut?) in production and the sides of it had been very roughly left in. This oval hole is in a very tricky place inside the tower liner and we had to use curved needle-nosed pliers to try to get in there to remove bits of plastic from the areas of the oval hole that had not been properly molded or cut out. Once we did this, we noticed a huge improvement in being able to adjust the water. Previously it would only come out as a pretty heavy stream and now we could adjust it down significantly to where it is pictured in the product description. So although it took a little work to get it to function properly, this may have just been a fluke. I was ready to return it (and even though I have Prime, it is rare for me to return anything) I'm glad my son found a way to make it work because I do like this item.Like I said, this may have just been this one unit and I would still recommend this. My cat seems to like it and now that we have been able to turn down the flow she wont end up with a wet forehead and will hopefully use it more! She's such a sweet cat!Update: April 17th 2021 and this product is still working great!! We clean it and change the filter (a little less often than we should according to the instructions) and we do not ever let the water level get down to the minimum mark. It's important for the life of the motor to keep the water level above minimum. I think the quality issues I mentioned above were just a fluke with only our unit because this product has held up extremely well and is still in excellent working condition!

Perfect for kittens and grown cats
Research shows that many cats prefer drinking running water over stagnant water from a bowl, and that cats (especially males) who drink INadequate amounts of water are at higher risk for various urinary tract illnesses like painful urethral crystals, kidney stones, bladder obstruction and UTIs. Most cats are drawn to the moving, running water of a pet fountain, using it frequently throughout the day. Our really tiny foster kittens refused to even approach water in a flat dish or shallow bowl, and they needed to learn to drink water when they were weaned from bottle feeding onto wet, then dry kitten food to avoid constipation and dry, painful poops. I researched dozens of pet fountains. My criteria was: excellent reviews and a unit tiny kittens could reach to drink from without risk of falling into the fountain and drowning. This fountain has been perfect! Holds more than a liter of water, makes a lovely but quiet trickling sound only detectable if you are right next to the unit. We have the spout at almost the lowest setting, no splash but good sound. The fact that the usually silent motor noise gets significantly louder when the water level drops below the minimum level. line is actually a very helpful warning alert and should prevent harm to the motor from too-low water in the pump. Truly simple to assemble, needed just one try to get it up and running in only 5 minutes. Love the blue and purple lights; keeps us humans from accidentally kicking the fountain in the dark (cats couldn’t care less about the lights)! Although it holds a good volume of water, the unit is designed with only a 3 inch high front wall holding water in the bowl. The kits at first drank by dipping their paws in the stream of water because they were too short to lap from the bowl, but It was only about a week before they were tall enough to lap either directly from the bowl or (their preferred) from the falling stream. No cat has climbed into the fountain so far. It’s been up and running flawlessly 24/7 for 3 weeks, during which time I just top it up to the MAX line every other day or so, and I have emptied and cleaned the unit out only once. The kits are too young to shed yet, but the intake vent did pick ou a few little hairs. Both the water and the unit stayed very clean with the provided filter, and I only use Brita-filtered water to refill it since a large pitcher is always available for our household drinking water. I figure using already filtered water in the fountain would maximize the life of the charcoal replacement filter which seems pricey. Although all three kittens play gently in the fountain when they drink from it. It’s not a water-park free-for-all and no messes are being made. We parked ours slightly removed from the kitchen food station, in a highly visible corner of the dining room where the kits pass by a hundred times a day. We’ve set the fountain unit on a big absorbent foam dish drainer pad which catches any drops. The floor under the pad has stayed bone dry so far. The kits are drinking lots of water as evidenced by the frequent need to change the litter box. Litter box is an inconvenience, kittens but grown cats not drinking enough is a health hazard, especially for male cats. I will NEVER be able to afford $$$ surgery for my cats, especially one that could be prevented by lots of water in their diets. I highly recommend this product, and would buy it again in a New York minute.

Stopped working
It has been a great water fountain for my 3 cats. I love how much water you can fill it with. However, it stopped working last month and it hasn’t been a year. I also bought filters for this specific fountain and they were too big.

Great Product
Positives- ultra-quiet- adjustable water flow- blue LED night light- good looking- power cable detaches from fountain, for easier fountain removal for cleaning (you don't need to take the whole power cable/wall transformer with you, when you take the base to the sink)Negatives- some assembly required (takes 15 mins), a little challenging to figure out how the LED plugs in the fountain tower- it's all plastic- as others have recommended, don't use the filter, as fine charcoal dust settles in the water and bowlWater fountain with an blue LED light is cool. As other reviewers have stated, makes a great night light. The power button is located on the power cable. Has 3 modes, off/fountain only/fountain with LED. The power button itself has a blue and a red LED to indicate the modes. These LEDs add additional night lighting.Fountain is ultra-quiet (has a faint hum, that can only be heard when the room is very quiet). You can adjust the flow of water. The higher the flow, the more water-gurgling sounds it makes. For the first 2 days, black residue would form on the triangular water-break. Think the residue may charcoal dust from the filter. Don't use the filter.Took my cat a few days before she accepted it and drank from it.Good price, great design, good looking, works flawlessly, highly recommended.

Can’t get replacement filters
My cat likes the fountain but I looked for replacement filters and the reviews say they are either the wrong size or they go mouldy !!I take the original one out and sanitize it but that won’t long

Great product - clean it well
I've had this for a couple years now and my cat loves it. He won't drink still water, so fountains are great! One thing that is important to note. I kept getting a gross sludgy build up on the inside of the fountain. When I googled it, I realized you can take the motor apart for cleaning. Please learn from my mistake and learn how to clean it correctly so it doesn't cause your cat health problems.Thankfully that was a user error and not an issue with the product!

Performs As Advertised
I've only had this fountain for a few days. My first impression is that it is very quiet as long as the water level doesn't drop below the "Low" marker - all you can hear is a bit of a water trickle. The flow is indeed adjustable, but I would still appeal to the manufacturer to try and cut the water flow in half - even at the lowest flow rate the stream of water is quite generous. For certain it's too high a flow for my cats to drink directly from the stream, and when they attempt to drink out of the sides of the reservoir the splashing from the water stream hitting the bevel distracts and annoys them. In all honesty, my cats have turned this fountain into a play toy - they're fascinated with the water stream, and are constantly batting at and lunging into the stream, which means that water gets everywhere. So yes, the fountain works great but I'd recommend it for a small dog owner rather than a cat owner.
