Cute set but for one the royal blue is not royal blue, it's a little lighter and I don't like color but it's a sturdy cup and two, although the saucer is larger than I expected, it's still a very nice set. I would buy again, not bad.

**UPDATE** Still love the look of the cup. However, because coffee cools so quickly in this cup, I often have to re-heat the beverage. The cup gets VERY hot from the microwave. The cup actually seems to get hotter than the coffee, if that's possible. So if you do reheat in the microwave, make sure to use a cloth to remove the cup and/or saucer. It's such an annoyance that I have removed half a star.After seeing reviews of cups arriving broken, I'm happy that mine arrived safely. The boxing was sort of cute but cheap-looking if you are gifting it.What I love are the size and weight. This is not too heavy to be uncomfortable holding it for a while but it's not flimsy-feeling. The size is just perfect for that morning cup of coffee or evening tea. It basically holds about 6 ounces of coffee or tea leaving room for cream without being too full to walk with. The handle is comfy and easy to grip.The saucer's edge has just enough of an upcurve to keep any spills from sloshing onto the floor. (I like to lay in bed with my tea at night. My old coffee saucer was flat and let the slightest spill go over the edge.)Probably my one complaint is a bit unfair since this is not a thermal cup but... the coffee cools very quickly in this. That could be the wide mouth?I might have to get another one of these because I want to see it in red. I like a cute cup/saucer but didn't want anything too fragile so this is just right. And it handles both the microwave and dishwasher just fine.

I bought two of these because they are the perfect size for cappuccino. They look very nice, the color is beautiful and it comes well packaged if you plan on giving this as a gift to someone. But be warned - if your friend is actually a coffee drinker, they may find this dainty little cup a tad small - and prefer a mug. Even a tea drinker might find it too small to be useful, as would someone used to three sizes of "latte."In the 1980s, before coffee shops took over the world, I worked in an espresso place where in lieu of "small" "medium" and "large" we simply had "espresso" "cappuccino" and "cafe latte." Honestly if someone had ordered a "latte" back then, it would have been interpreted to mean steamed milk - possibly with one of the those flavorings - - but if you didn't specify you wanted a shot of espresso in there by ordering a "cafe" latte, no one would have made the assumption you wanted caffeine. If you get what I am talking about and this makes sense to you - - -lol - - you'll know what I mean when I say this is PERFECT for cappuccino.
