Pelican 1510M Carry-On Case With Foam (Black)

First off, I am a pelican case fanatic. I have 12 different case and I use all of them. I bought this as an addition to my new Jeep Rubicon. I am using this care for my camera gear, compasses and few cigars on the go! On top of being an outstanding case, the off road wheels add a rugged and more stable base for trucking this case everywhere and over everything. The oversized wheels and bulked up base added a little weight but so worth it. I also have the lighter more airline friendly 1510, I love that one too but for off roading and adventure this 1510M rocks.

Fantastic quality from Pelican, as always. I like the new additions: roller blade style wheels, making transportation easy on any hard surface and pick n' pluck foam. The case stands straight and lays down at ease. My husband bought this case primarily for tools because he is going to school to be an Automation Field Tech. A case on wheels will transport the tools easily from one spot to another working on machines and make his job a whole lot easier. My husband's height is 5'4" and he can wheel his case perfectly comfortably behind him.

Great case, foam sucked for packing tools. Bought a lid organizer and some tool pallets that kinda fit. Way better than the foam though.

I have always loved the build quality of these cases but now that they have the larger wheels and sit a little higher of the ground, they are much better to handle and move around. By far the best cases on the market!

Love this case! I've been traveling a lot lately both car and plane and was tired of my gear getting banged up and tired of carting it through the airports. I put Nikon D5 D810 and 4 1.4 prime lenses, 3 nikon SB500's spare batteries and a few cigars! This case rolls beautifully and is solid! Even if I have to red tag it at the gate, I know it will be fine! 100% recommended!

Love this case overall, but have two issues. There were 6 (?) spots for attaching the wheels to the case that had no fasteners. Without these, the wheel kit didn’t seem very well attached, and the case was not waterproof at all. I added a couple dollars of nylock nuts and bolts from the hardware store and now it seems solid. The second is the latches. They’re solid once they’re all the way closed, but they have a “false” closed position. When they open it for inspection at airport security they weren’t closing the latches all the way because of this issue. It would come out on the baggage carousel halfway open! I printed a label instructing “please close firmly, two clicks” and this has helped but I still get nervous if there’s any smaller items in there.

I have been hauling 50lbs of tools in this bag for over 5 years flying on average of once a week. The only reason I bought a second bag is that the airline damaged it so badly I could not fly with it. I was able to repair it once I got home. I now have two great bags. July 2023, still going.....

Awesome case. Perfect for an Engineer who needs to travel with his tools.

Looks very sturdy, ready for punishment. But the item is very heavy compared to other similar Pelican Protector cases. I guess making it stronger and more robust is at the cost of lightness. I think it would be difficult to take this onto an airplane as carry on, as it is already 7.6kg with foam (with no contents). Maybe if you were carrying feathers or a birds nest.... or a single pair of undies
