Very wonderful glazes!
Kind of pricey, but I needed them ASAP for a class. Delivery was fabulous! Arrived in 2 days! The colors work beautifully together. A big hit with my students. Thank you!

NOT A LOW FIRE GLAZE
i bought these because in the description text on Amazon it is referred to as a low fire glaze. At the time I was going back and forth between glazes and browser windows and I decided that I needed "the low fire one" of those I was looking at. I caught that and ordered these, but I can't use them because my clay is Amaco #25 low fire clay, cone 06-05 and these are cone 5/6. Not a big deal, I've got some medium fire clay as well. Though I haven't used it yet, from reviews I've read since, having to research the possibility of using it with low fire clay (you can't), it is well liked glaze.

Fantastic Results
If you read and follow the instructions on Amaco's website, you'll fall in love with the results and the limitless possibilities these glazes offer. If you're pig-headed, and don't take the time to familiarize yourself with the correct application techniques, you'll be disappointed. The results you achieve depend on the level of effort you invest in learning how to properly apply and layer these glazes. It's up to you. The yunomi and sake set are Laguna's Electric Brown (cone 5-6) bisqued to 04. Yunomi has 3 coats of Smoky Merlot with two coats of Blue Rutile layered over it. Sake set has three coats of Temmoku. All were fired to cone 5 in an electric kiln, with no soak and no controlled firing down.

Amaco glazes
Amaco glazes are always great. The only thing with this order was one pint was not the correct color. Very disappointed, would have sent back but needed the other 5 pints for a project. Slightly deceptive.

great colors, great price
its a good color assortment. your results will vary based on how thick you apply, what color ware you put it on, how hot the firing goes too..... but these colors layer up so well! you can come up with so many great looks by layering a bit here and there and let them blend away. buying the set saves money on getting 6 separately. only one had its foil top broken open and a bit leaked out, not bad for stuff that is shipped and UPS can drop stuff.

Took a chance
After reading the reviews I was prepared to possibly get different colors than what was listed but I thought I'd take chance. I did end up getting different colors but it worked out for the best for me. I was wanting Oatmeal and I got that in place of Salt Buff and they swapped Albany Slip for Textured Amber Brown which is actually the color in the picture. In the end, I got all the colors I wanted plus a bonus color I wanted and I'll say the ones that were traded out were at least similar.

Secrets to Success with PC Glazes
We have loved these glazes. For us they appeared similar to the pictures. I have a suspicion that others who haven't loved the Potter's Choice glazes may not be applying them right for the result they want. Each glaze needs a slightly different application in this family of glazes. Many are float glazes and the final appearance varies drastically based on how thick they are applied and what temperatures they are fired to. I have been firing to cone 6 as recommended with success. I found the following resource provided by the manufacturer to be incredibly helpful and would have had a terrible experience with these glazes without it. see: http://www.amaco.com/learn-about-potters-choice-glazes/

Bottles leaked in transport. From good to poor performance: - Cosmic tea dust really sparkly, very stable, brownish but can go blackish over black UG - Iron yellow gives even coverage, but q neutral - Sage is undependable; firing well and also crawling at times - Adventurine very sparkly but incredibly runny and difficult to use - Sapphire Float was patchy - Ancient Copper very dull and disappointing

Lids were all sealed, all the colours were the ones in the description. Great price, packaged well, awesome.

I received blue rutile, temmoku, shino, smokey merlot as stated in the description. But I also received oatmeal, and textured amber instead of the other 2 glazes from the Amazon description. The glazes I received are what is described in Amaco literature for their Potter's Choice Class Pack No1. I haven't used them yet, but they seem to be in good condition.
