I got this as summer practice for my 14-year-old autistic son. He is extremely step-by-step. He's an excellent student and very bright but struggles horribly with writing essays. Part of the problem with essay writing is that the assignments are often ambiguous - something that does not work well for most autistic people. This book breaks everything down into concrete steps. I love how the author explains how really any topic can be approached with the same steps. And even with all of this information, the book is brief and easy to read. I have my son go through 3 to 6 pages a day and we're working our way up to him writing a couple of essays before summer's end. He says he feels more prepared. Even if he's still struggles when it comes to actually writing essays again, I know that we will be able to go back to this book and break down the steps for him at any time. Thank you so much!!

Amazing book on the fundamentals of writing and it should be mandatory reading for students and professionals of any age who want to improve their written communication! We will be using this book for home school English 11. If I can only teach one thing to my kiddos, it will be to write a well organized, clear, impelling essay. That one skill will help them immensely to get through college. They have not picked this skill up in public school yet, and this book, along with rich content reading will solve that.

This writing guide was a game changer for my daughter. We used this her senior year of homeschooling and her writing improved so much! I love the fact that it walls you through the steps thoroughly step -by- step by step! Good for those that may need a refresher or simple don't know. I used it for my 5-8 grade students that I tutor. Great book for all!
