NovaCOLE JAW SET JSCOLE - Includes standard bumpers, extended longer double jaw mounting screws, and 4 jaw screw spares

I bought for use on my old lathe which turned to high of a speed on low. I now have a new lathe but have not used the cole jaws yet. I think the rubber grippers are to soft but time will tell. I only gave it 4 stars due to bad experience on my old lathe. I think it will work well on my new Powermatic lathe.

Great product for the price!

The jaws work very well for holding both in contraction and expansion, which should cover the vast majority of bowl lip shapes. The only issue I had with them were that the mating surface that sits on the chuck wasn't perfect, meaning that I had to loosen and tighten the screws several times to get the jaw faces nearly coplanar. Because of that, their recommendation of a max speed of 1000 RPM seems a bit high, but jaws like this really aren't intended to be taken very fast anyway, so that's not really a huge problem.

I debated whether to give a 4 or 5 star review. These are incredibly useful and mine were accurately machine, I just wish the bumpers were a slightly harder material, but then again, if they were, they might cause a problem I don’t foresee. If you turn a lot of bowls and don’t want to mess with a vacuum chuck these can’t be beat.

Looks good, but have not used it yet

It is not as useful as I thought it would be. Has to many limitations in the turning and designing of turned items. I will be better off making my own for what I would like to turn on a lathe. However for you people who are worried about it being an attachment. It works great in attaching to my Nova chuck. For me the posts are not high enough to hold the object. I am currently trying to find a way to modify that situation. Ultimately I will have to make my own.

Was introduced to this by an experienced bowl turner and really have been pleased with how well this serves the purpose.
