A compact, reliable, well designed unit
This unit is well designed, seemingly durable and reliable. This is my first departure from Streamlight or Surefire products, which often are more expensive, but this unit seems equally well designed and built. I particularly like the fact that it is available with a matching holster for my Glock 31 (.367 Sig version of the .40 SW Glock 22 frame). I wouldn't recommend this setup as a concealed carry system because the holster isn't exactly the most compact and body-hugging arrangement, but for my purposes it is appropriate. I find the green laser to be easier on night vision for some reason, and the light is adequate for illuminating an entire room or any distance typically suited to engagement with a handgun.

C5L Viridian and TacLoc Holster Combo - on a XD(m) 3.8" 9mm
What can you say? This laser/light combo is an absolute hit! Have not had the issues with battery cover yet, just take your time with a dime... actually a nickle is perfect for screwing in the battery cover. As an electrical engineer, I have been around lasers, LED's, lights et. all since the 70's and this unit is one very thought out/engineered product, to say the least. The TacLoc holster works well as advertised. It does use the C5L main rail mounting screw head as a retention point for the latch, that might bring up some issues later. I also hear the holster may not be IDPA competition approved... we shall see about that issue in the future.Have not gone into 'deep programming' mode yet, nor have I needed to. The default settings that you can step through while pressing the two switches easily puts the unit into proper mode. I use solid laser setting during the day - and switch to strobe laser/solid light at night time.Pros:o Very bright green beam (but see note below).o For it's size, the 100 lumen light WILL blind you or your threat, period.o Compact... did I say well engineered?Cons:o beam divergence on my C5L unit is about double the specifications. I have about 0.5" dot at 25 feet on my test target. A 'gun show' cheap laser I have has a tighter beam than this unit that is < 0.25" at the same distance. Well within hand gun range though, but disappointed with the C5L spot size.o Finish could be a more dull/subdued anodize on the aluminum body, as in a flat mil-spec type finish. I hate shiny finishes on most parts/flashlights/sights, etc.o The rail mount adapters could have be made out of machined aluminum instead of FRP, but it holds zero on my 9mm so far.Overall - highly recommend as a great product, and will provide you many options in a SHTF situation. Being a Security Guard 'G', I required and need quality products, and this fits the bill 'almost perfectly'. 6 stars if the unit had a tighter laser beam and a mil-spec/matte finish and machined rail mounting adapters.

Everything you want it to be.
The laser is bright, clean and highly visible. The white light is not in any sense a 'tactical' light, 100 lumens is just enough for target identification in very dark spaces, and that is clearly what is intended by the designers. The white light is only a ghost in normal (60-watt incandescent bulbs) room light. The user's guide is clear, succinct, and to the point. The unit comes attached to a dummy-front-end-of-slide-with-rail box that contains the battery, the extra mounting rails, and the mount rail and laser alignment tool. After you mount the laser, the box could live in your range bag or tool kit. The only other tools you need are a common screwdriver for the mounting screw, and a nickel for the battery cap. After installing the battery (supplied), I dropped the nickel into the little tool box for next time.

Unreliable. Not sure if I can depend my life on.
This is the only brand name green laser + light device for subcompact firearms. It has great features set. Unfortunately, it does reliability turn both light and laser on. The light and laser both works individually, but laser will shut off or won’t come on at all in laser + light mode. Also the holster is supposed to shut off the device, and it does not always do the job.

Great Gift For The Well Armed House Wife
Absolutely awesome!! I put this on my wife’s Glock 19. She normally shoots an 8” group at 15 ft with her open sights. After sighting it in she was shooting a 4” group and moving the target out to 30 & 50 ft. consistently hitting center mass The laser was easy to install and sight in. The TacLoc holster makes it a no brainer, take the pistol out of the holster the light & laser come on, blind the target and

The laser was fine, the holster was a not a fit for my handgun. I contacted the company to try and swap the holster for one that would fit, they wanted to sell me a new holster - not happening so I returned the unit for credit.

Does not function as advised, not concealable!
Two stars because the light and laser is bright and works well. The light nor laser turn on automatically when removed from the holster no matter the setting. The holster sits 5.5 inches off your hip. This is impossible to conceal, which is the whole purpose of a compact firearm.....

Good overall
Good overall. I wish the light was a little brighter. Also the holster I received WAS NOT the holster in the picture above as advertised. I received the paddle holster, not the belt loop holster that is in the picture above. But other than that, I've had the C5L for about a month and the product works as advertised so far.
