DISLIKES: This thing STUNK. The odor was horrible. I wanted to return it....but I took it out of the box, spread it out on the ground for 3 days. It defragranced....! Yes.LIKES: Easy Assembly. Great instructions. Fine product design. I'd do it again. Thanks.Sometimes patience pays well.

I’m not sure what the bad reviews are talking about but this isn’t made of cedar. It specifically says it’s made of fir which is perfectly safe for tortoises. My little guy doesn’t use the shaded part yet but I’m sure he will as a hide as he gets older and bigger. There are slats in the bottom which is great for drainage when you moisten the mulch. I haven’t noticed any moisture damage so everything seems fine there. Also no strong smell when I opened the box, and easy assembly.

This product is so good! I love it! It came in nicely not broken and the packaging to make it not break super smart! Now came the building which was super easy! just like one thing was not hard but just a bit confusing. But other than that super good! The size is awesome it's not to small but not to big! The cleaning nice just get a scooper and pick up anything like I added bedding. Now the performance of this is nice! We got pieces that open, hiding spots, super smart to add something for the lamp! Now the total money cost ok maybe it's a lot but it's worth it so well! Totally buy it!

Others have mentioned one piece was too large or small. That piece is not being put where it belongs when they are assembling the hanger included for the light was useless. I drilled pilot holes for the screws because I can see where the wood could split. After it is assembled it looks great, and our new cherry head tortoise couldn’t be happier.

My fiancé bought this tortious home so she can easily Buddy around easily! She asked me to help her build it and of course I agree! Pulling out all of the pieces to make sure they were there, I ended up with some pieces that were the wrong size and length! One of my walls was taller than the rest so I had to hang it over the end of the flooring, made it a perfect spot for liquids or bark to get through! The hide-away cave cover was to short and had nothing to rest on but the brackets. Which causes light to be able to seep into what Is suppose to be a dark space the sun cage can’t fold all the way in half because of the light holder, and would be nice for cleaning if it could go all the way! And the partition panel with the hole in it did not line up with the screw holes on the outside, making me have to screw holes on the side of it which doesn’t look prettyOverall my fiancé might have gotten the unlucky set. But I’m writing this review because it seems as if no one put together this design before selling it! Luckily I’m innovative and made it work, but I could’ve crafted one better myself!DO NOT RECOMMEND!
