works for hot tubs.
i KNOW for a fact this thing works. Here's why. the DAY i don't have it in, i'm wiping my Hot tub down cause of a scum line. PERIOD. END OF STORY. every time i take this thing out, it's gross in there. plus, every couple of weeks i wash this thing out and it's ugly. ALSO, don't make the same mistake i did and accidentally "CUT" the netting when opening up the plastic. cause, if the netting is cut, little bits of foam will get out and mess up your filter. i figured that out the hard way. but, you will know if if you do it. this is a cheap and effective soluion. happy to have it.

These work as expected
These work well at helping to keep our spa clean. The only downside is that they like to stay in one orientation in the water. They don’t rotate around, so the scum only collects in one spot. Thankfully they are easy to clean by simply spraying with the water hose.

These work great both for our big hot tub and portable hot tub. Easy to clean and stays together

Both clips broken
I know they work because I have used them before, but disappointed that both clips were broken upon arrival.

Skimmers
These seem to be durable and good quality. Better the the cheap floating sponge skimmer. Perfect size. Keeps my hot tub clean and looking great.

Junk
Product doesn’t absorb or cling to anything. Floats on top of water. Used for a week straight and had no noticeable difference. Waste of money.

Actually work
I've used many various scum ball type products. This is the only one that actually works. Other reviews mentioning short life I seriously question what chemicals they're using and what the levels in the tub are because it sounds like some of you are chucking these directly into sulfuric acid. I get a solid 4 months out of mine no problem. And it doesn't break down and fall apart in my tub it just gets so saturated that I switch it out. I just replace it on the same schedule as my mineral purifier stick so I don't forget and it's a no brainer. It's not meant to replace regular cleaning and maintenance, it's just a little added help with body oils

Works Well
These scum absorbers eliminated the film introduced by an apparently bad batch of alkalinity increaser. I could only use one since the plastic clip holding the mesh bag closed was broken on one unit. I figured I'd use the bag on the good unit until it got so dirty it wouldn't clean up. I would then transfer the absorbent media from the defective mesh bag to the good (old) one.I didn't have to implement my plan since after a week (and two media cleanings) the pool was crystal clear.
