Wow!
After reading several good reviews about this little gizmo, I figured I would give it a try.First of all, it is small. Small, as in about the size of a deck of standard playing cards. (No, really, it's that small!) It came packaged in a plastic bubble type package -which was very easy to open. Of course, there is an AC to DC power adapter, and instructions. The connections are self-explanatory and simple. Hook up your speaker cables to the spring loaded terminals, plug the power adapter cable into the unit FIRST (avoiding mentioned arcing in other reviews), turn the volume knob all the way down, and plug it in. That simple! The speaker terminals are fairly stout. I had 24 Ga wire lying around so that is what was used, but they will easily handle 18 Ga cables. I hooked the unit up to a set of Technics front/main speaker towers (two 6" drivers, one tweeter in each) and it sounds pretty darn good. I do plan on replacing the cheesy 24 Ga cables later, but curiosity wouldn't allow me to wait.Pairing is fast and simple. There is an audible pop when it pairs, but once it does, there is no background noise. I have only used my iPhone up to this point, and at about 25 feet it cut up a little, but I have the receiver sitting way back in a corner at about waist level. I moved it about a foot away from the corner and it cut out less. Ideally the unit should be placed in a more central/line of sight, and higher location than where I presently have it, but like I stated earlier, this was a trial run.I must mention that when the unit does not have a bluetooth signal, it goes to "sleep". There is a very bright blue LED on the face of the unit which indicates that it is paired. When it is not, the blue LED is off. When you want to activate the unit, all you have to do is pair it to your device. No buttons, knobs or switches. Simple and fumble free. Did I mention that the LED is VERY bright? The quality of sound was notable with no background hiss or white noise, and the volume was reasonable. I listened to various types of music and could hear small details in the sound. Audiophile, maybe not but the sound quality was still impressive. I set the unit at about 75% volume and used the volume control on my phone to adjust. I did not max the volume on the unit (yet). I will try that when I get some decent speaker cables connected. After about an hour of constant operation at moderate volume, the unit felt barely warm to the touch. At this point, I have already considered purchasing more units for other parts of my house. The simplicity of installation and operation of this device is refreshing. There are no other connections on the unit other than the four speaker terminals on the back, with the power jack, volume knob and one LED on the front.

Does the job well
I got a set of outdoors speakers for my birthday last year and I didn't want to run wires all the way from my indoor AV receiver to my backyard so I started looking for a solution that involves a bluetooth amplifier. There are currently 2 main options on Amazon, Grace Digital and the Amphony, the amphony outputs 40w per channel and had a better review than the Grace Digital.I was sceptical at first and thoughts the reviews were biased, but still decided to give it a shot. The little guy arrived in 2 days (pretty fast for USPS mail) and when I say little, I mean this amplifier is really small, as big as my nexus 4.The packaging looked like it was a used item, it was dusty and not well sealed, up to that point I was questioning myself whether I made the right decision buying this amplifier. So I plugged in my speakers using 16 gauge wires and plugged in the power adapter first and then went ahead to insert the power jack and man this thing sparked like crazy (Lesson 1: make sure to plug in the electric jack first before you plug in the adapter).Next step, I paired my phone and this step was smooth and easy and I got sound out of my speakers! This amplifier does not come with any kind of equalizer or control over treble and bass, so you need to control these filters from your source (phone/computer).Once I adjusted the setting on my android "DSP manager", the sound quality was very decent, no distortion at all, it's not as good as my 800$ AV receiver but it does the job and it does it pretty well.We hosted 2 cookouts this weekend and ran the amplifier for over 10 hours without a single glitch. As for the 100feet bluetooth range, I would take this with a grain of salt, it might be my phone, but if I walk 50 feet away from amplifier, the audio drops (Planning to test with an Iphone and report back).

Sorely disappointed
I'd give this zero stars if I could. After reading a slew of good reviews, I ordered this to connect to some outdoor speakers, thinking I would just disconnect this unit when not in use (since it's obviously not an outdoor device). I received it today and went to test it to see how great it was. I followed the instructions, plugged in the power cord, and then plugged the wall wart in. For whatever reason, it said to pair it to a device first and then connect speakers, so I grabbed my phone and went into the bluetooth settings to pair it. It searched...and searched...and searched, until the battery was drained. Never found the receiver. I though maybe it was my phone, so I grabbed my laptop. Same. Then I grabbed an older phone. Same. My wife's phone. Same. Tried unplugging the receiver, tried removing the antenna, tried moving the antenna, tried going away from the unit, tried putting my phone on top of the unit. Nothing. Zip. Nada. So it went directly into the box, I processed a return through Amazon, and proceeded to shop for some other product.I don't get how this thing could have so many great reviews and then I get a unit that doesn't work at all? I couldn't even find anything anywhere online where anyone else complained about the bluetooth not working. Poor sound, sure. Poor range, sure. Not no bluetooth at all. So was I doing something wrong, or do I just have the worst luck?
