Can you set the base on the bed rather than hook to a book?

Hi - thank you for your question. The clip opens to a maximum width of 1" but is better to be clipped on surfaces no larger than 1/2" for best results. If you clip it to a book does it illuminate both pages or do you have to switch it side to side?

Hi - thank you for your question. If you clip it towards the spine of the book, the light is sufficient to cover both pages of a paperback or smaller-sized book. Is the light color 2700k?

You are referring to warm light. It is a led light, but not extremely bright. I would not like a bright light. In no way is it like the bright, piercing light of a phone light. Softer and warmer for sure. I really like that you can select the exact brightness you want by depressing the 'on' button continuously and it will go through a fading. Depress it again and it will brighten. I have searched many times for a long time trying to find a good light. This light is excellent and holds its charge for a very long time. Sturdy and flexible; well-built.

Anyone had this for more than a few months and it's still working fine?

Have had it for nearly a year. Working just fine. Very pleased with its performance.
