came as described.
These stir bars have a ridge in the middle. not sure if this will help or hinder, will update after use.

Good for liquid culture
They did not explode in the pressure cooker which is good. I use them for mushroom growing.

Noise
They're good at what they are supposed to do and had no problems autoclaving them but, since they have this wider ring in the center, they tend to hit de glass producing a, sort of, rattiling sound when using them. aside from that, everything is fine.

Perfect for liquid culture
The perfect size and weight for pint size wide mouth Mason jars. They are well balanced so they spin freely on center unlike another brand I tried first. These work great with my magnetic lab mixer to break up liquid culture for mushroom cultivation. Would definitely recommend and purchase again.

I loose these little guys and love how fast I can replace them.

It's a magnet
Rotates when exposed to a rotating magnetic field. Torque seems to be proportionate to field strength. Can confirm does not autoignite when exposed to atmospheric oxygen. Does not protect against covid.

Room for improvement
I use these in liquid culture jars for mycology. I did enjoy the amount of stir bars that came with the pack as a lot of lab equipment can be quite pricey. But in this instance I would have to agree with the saying “you get what you pay for”. By no means are these stir bars terrible, they do work and create a good vortex but only if you do not have any solid material in whatever liquid you’re mixing. In my case I use agar and cut it into chunks before putting it my liquid culture and if I turn on my magnetic stirrer on anything but the lowest setting the chunks swirl directly to the bottom and knock the magnet off. I bought a more expensive brand that offered half the amount of stir bars to see if it would make a difference and unfortunately it was night and day. I could turn up the speed almost all the way up with no issue. So, for me they do not meet my needs but they do work and offer a good amount of stir bars in comparison to other brands that are more expensive.
