UPDATED review---2 years later.STILL LOVE IT-don't use anything else now
Update:After about 2 years of using this product, we're still purchasing it and using it regularly! We've tried a few other liquid chalks since and always return to this one. The only comparable chalk we've found is that of real chalk, but this is without the mess and it doesn't transfer to equipment. We've had a couple of the 1.5oz bottles stolen off our stuff which is always a bummer, but both husband and I rate this a solid 5/5 product...OG Review: I bought this to surprise my husband as he travels for work a lot and was warned at the temporary powerlifting gym he was attending for using regular chalk. I had mentioned this product a couple months prior after cleaning out the regular chalk that had exploded in his gym bag while traveling, and he was against it saying it'll never grip enough for the weight he's working with. He's a heavy-weight lifter so chalk makes a drastic difference. So, after being warned he tried a few workouts bare-handed and came out of those pretty frustrated. He finally got angry enough with the lack of intensity his now chalk-less workouts gave him to finally try this stuff....and was a a converted believer after the first use.Unless you use too much it dries on clear so really no one will know you're using "chalk" to begin with, and the small bottle came with a nice little clip for his gym bag so it's pretty discreet. The only downside is it does have a girly, almost lavender- smell to it but dissipates relatively quickly. A little dollop will go a long way, and on our lon

Great Grip!
Works as advertised. I broke my left index finger a few years ago and struggle with grip strength in that hand due to lose of strength in that finger. As a powelifter this makes it hard to train at heavy weird for multi-rep because my grip falls after only a few reps. I also don't want to constantly rely on straps to compensate. Lastly my gym doesn't allow chalk go figure. Anyways I found liquid grip and hear are my thoughts.About a dime to nickel size run over hands like lotion and let them dry, this is crucial or it won't work the way you want it to, you might have to wave or shake hands to help air dry but only a few seconds. I have used for circuit workouts, gripping and un-gripping bars and push ups in one routine and powerlifting as well. It lasted at least 2 sets regardless of what I was doing, it didn't transfer to the bar, there is a very small transfer to cloths occasionally but barely noticeable. The smell isn't the greatest but its not unbearable. Its so super strong that you can smell it after its dried. It helped me get 8 reps at 225 before I couldn't hold the bar.

This stuff is great
Applies easy and stays put. Some chalk residue will transfer to on the bar on the first lift after application, but after that, there really isn't any transfer. Takes about 30 seconds of waving your hands around to dry completely. Grip is noticeably better with use.One note, if you touch anything wet, this stuff comes off immediately - and it's supposed to, it washes right off when you're done lifting. But if you touch a towel, a water bottle, your shirt, face, anything wet, you will lose the chalk. I'd bet all the money in my wallet that the vast majority of reviews saying they have to "reapply because of sweaty hands" are reapplying because they have touched their wet shirt or a damp towel or something. I have put this stuff on and done 4 super sets of wide grip pull-ups and single arm dumbbell press and my hands look like I just put it on. If I am careful with my towel use, I can get through a six exercise (~1hr 15min) workout with only one application.

small bottle to take into the gym - Smells pretty good - Works like brick chalk for grip
Pros:- Leaves little to no residue on surfaces ("no transfer") once dry on your hands- Discreet, small bottle to take into the gym- Smells pretty good- Works like brick chalk for grip, provides good tackiness and gripCons:- Requires more reapplications that the product seems to let on- Requires soap and water to remove- Contains some amount of rosin from what I've gathered about the ingredients (online research) - might not be safe to use on rock climbing routes due to potential for tacky build-up (climbers would know more about this)Overall Impression:I love this product for weight-lifting! Pretty affordable and the formulation is great as far as drying characteristics, grip strength and the fact that it really does reduce/eliminate transfer from your hands to keep chalk dust down compared to other liquid chalk products. Great for gyms that ban "chalk" as 95% of it stays on your hands and it comes with a discreet small bottle. Be sure to let it dry COMPLETELY before you use your hands or you risk it coming off easier and for courtesy, I would wipe off any barbells/dumbbells/equipment you use to remove the potential gum/rosin.

Works very well
I do calisthenics workout and use bar a lot. Not only for pull ups but I do pull overs, meat hooks, muscle ups, mu negatives, German hang, back lever etc. My hands sweat a lot and start slipping and it was very dangerous when I was upside down. I wanted something with a good grip… then my calisthenics friend told me about this. I love this product. This works better than non slip gloves. Yes, you get calluses on your hands but you get better grips.
