I wish all my purchases were as easy to love as these simple placemats are. I recently painted my brown, wooden kitchen table white, while leaving the chairs the original wood color. I put a beautiful clear sealer on the table for durability but of course wanted placemats for extra protection at meals. My white Corelle dishes pop against the neutral beige weave; the placemats add a touch of warmth and personality to the table.Some placemats are ridiculously priced. This set is very well priced and with eight of them, I was able to dedicate one specifically for under the cat food and water bowls on the vinyl floor.One note I must add. The placemats all had a rippled crease in the middle as if the stack of them had been folded for awhile, so they did not lay flat on the table, and a couple of them had a small crease in one corner. I resolved the issue by using an ironing board and placing a very damp dish towel over one at a time and ironing on top of the dish towel to steam out the creases. It took about 15 minutes to do them all, rewetting the dish cloth as needed, to where they were flat, and all worth the extra effort, so I’m not even taking off a point for that because I’m that pleased with my purchase. I’ve been using these for 6 months. These look nice. They lie flat initially (I bought them to replace some thin silicone ones that kept curling up) That’s about all I can say that’s positive.First, they are not heat resistant. I still have to use trivets under my plates to protect my table, otherwise condensation builds up under the placemat.But the biggest issue is that the weave is open and very wide. This allows food and liquid to seep through them onto the table (mess #1), and harden in the weave (mess #2), so you have to scrub them clean under running water. Some things won’t come out; I spilled Frank’s Red Hot on one of them and there is a permanent orange stain on it now. My kids drip yogurt on them and it hardens quickly and even scrubbing under water it’s very difficult to remove.I initially just wiped them after using, but finally had to start washing them in the sink with soap and a sponge, which is a messy affair. Water fills the weave, making them heavy so they flop around when trying to scrub, and then water splashes everywhere as I’m scrubbing them.Drying them afterwards is another issue. Even after towel drying, water stays in the weave, so I have to let them air dry. The only place I really have to do this is over the backs of my dining chairs, and then they dry with a crease in them so they don’t lay flat anymore.If you’re looking for easy to clean, low maintenance placemats, these aren’t what you want. I’m on the hunt for replacements.

These placements are holding up well against my kids. They are simple to clean, and have been very durable. They are woven so if you leave a liquid on them for a long time it will slowly leak through but if you clean it up quickly it holds it on top. They also roll up and can be stored in a small place if you don't need all 8 of them.

So the place mats came in a protective ziploc bag within another bag to ensure that it's clean. I used it the first time when I had some soup to test if it's really is heat-resistant or not. Turned out IT IS. IT IS also not slippery at all which really helped me when my table has no friction. Cleaning it is super easy, you just rinse it with water or scrub with a sponge and all the dirt come off. Overall true to name product, my family love it. Would recommend for anyone looking for good quality and also a lot of place mats in 1 order, this is the ONE!

This pandemic has caused me to be a pseudo-chef. My pride in my cooking (which was previously non-existent) has caused me to take pictures of every recipe I dropped. After awhile, I decided it was time for a "new look" to my pictures. Yes, that meant new placemats. I was excited to see these placemats on amazon. They were cheap which meant I can buy multiple colors and designs. I picked this as my first set. The color was neutral and just the right texture. My pictures looked great. But then, the meals with sauces came. As my children missed their plates trying to pile food, it ultimately always landed on the placemats. Apparently, these placemats catches nothing. It goes straight through and inadvertently damaged my table (especially when we had curry). If you want a functional placemat, this is not the right one. Find something else.

The media could not be loaded.  Nice pattern but a little see through. I have a wooden table that I was trying to protect from any liquids. They match our seats perfectly though. I thought I read that they protect your table from heat and liquids but maybe that was a different one that I was looking at in regards to liquids.-Mandy

I bought 8 of these to use in my Airbnb listings. I need something durable and easy to clean. My first guests had kids and the koolaid stains wouldn't wash out, not even after scrubbing with Comet with bleach. Next set of guests got the other set of 4 mats. No kids, but there were strains, and I couldn't get the stains out of the mats. What good are Matt's you can only use once? I'm throwing them all out.

I ordered these because i use placemats a lot. They are very easy to clean, saved me lot of time and i don’t have to worry about the mess anymore. They come in 8 placemats which is really good and can’t beat the price. The color is gorgeous and complements my table very well.i even use two of them in my kitchen island for quick breakfast. You can basically have a lot of use out of them. Im glad i bought these

This mat is great for everyday day use, easy to clean and maintain.We had some tomato curry spill over on this and it has stained one of the mats slightly, but it's not too noticeable.
