Fassett at His Best
I love Kaffe Fassett's work, although it's almost opposite of the abstract minimalist work I do. So the photos are delightful. But the best part is the way he describes how he lives--I love learning about how creative people think and work. I've already read this book twice, and because Fassett's so interesting, I keep finding new insights. This is a definite keeper!

Huge dollops of color --- and heart / The Mastery of KF
Although I have been gathering books by Kaffe Fassett since the Nineties, I never expect to reach my limit. If there is a new title by Kaffe, I consider it a "must have". This latest title is a gem. And, in fact, I would say: If you plan to acquire only one book about this designer, this is the one. (but please also consider adding "Dreaming in Color", his biographical book) Whether he is designing textiles, ribbon, needlepoint, murals, mosaics, knitting projects, or the holiday tree in the Victoria & Albert Museum (yes, he did that too).......he has implicit trust in his color and design instincts. To me, that might just be the secret of his success. Trust and Instincts. This masterful designer has both qualities, in spades -- and so much more. The joy he expresses in his work is infectious; and although this lifelong artist is now in his 80s, he has so much to teach young people entering the arts. ( Makes me think that this book would be an excellent text book for aspiring artists. ) This definitive book is a revelatory look-see at Kaffe in his studio -- although one of my favorite photos shows him at a photo shoot, "styling" one of his textiles in a grand manor. Fortunate for us, he is still hard at work, sharing his enjoyment of color, form, surface design, art traditions, rule-breaking innovations --- and far more!PS -- and I absolutely loved squinting at the books on HIS shelves and noticing that we have collected many of the same titles. Congratulations, Kaffe --- You continue to inspire us in endless ways.

Color! Color! Color!
I cannot begin to tell you how much I adore this book! I didn’t believe that anyone could love color and pattern as much as me, but apparently Kaffe Fassett does! This was such a great look into his creative process. I’m an obsessive needle pointer (and reader!) but I could never design such masterpieces myself. I think that my favorites featured in the book are the chairs and the vegetable carpet. Absolutely brilliant! This book is such a feast for the eyes. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Kaffe Fassett is a legend in the knitting and quilting world.
I contain every book Kafffe Fassett has written since at least early 80's or earlier. O design knitwear and his books have been quintessential in my education of color, painting with yarn and creating one of a kind inspirational projects. I have also learned so much of color that his move towards quitting was not hard to follow. I devour the books and my appreciation of Kaffee Fassett grows.

Everyone NEEDS this book
I have been a fan of Kaffe's for many which started with his knitting, do not really knit but bought the books because of the colours. Have many of his patchwork books and have been lucky enough to have done a couple of workshops with him. Because of his mastery of colour I had always wondered what his home was like and now I know. Fabulous book with insight into his work and the most brilliant kaleidoscope of colours could be used by anyone as a source of inspiration for design.
