Sunbeam XL Renue Contoured Heating Pad, 25" x 25", For Neck & Shoulder Pain Relief with Auto Shut Off, Moist Heating Option, Machine-Washable, Lakeshore Blue

I love this heating pad. It is great for sore necks and backs.It is big and has various heat settings. It is blue, big, & soft. However, the last few I have bought did not last very long and they are not cheap and it is super frustrating. They used to work pretty good but some of them I bought at other stores & Amazon quit working for no apparent reason within 6 months to a year. Therefore, I think it is a brand problem not just an Amazon problem. But it is still my number one favorite brand of neck/back heating pad.

Love this pad for my neck back and shoulder pain due to Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and Sciatica. It is very nice quality pad with good quality materials to give a heavy (but not to heavy) feel to it that makes you feel snugged and cozy...and the pad stays in place. I lie back in the recliner they this pad and it relieve my pain and puts me to sleep. t has several heat settings, and the hottest one is almost too hot...so it really does give good relief to my pain. Nothing takes away Fibromyalgia pain, but this pad gives me such a relief of the severity of the pain...it's so very wonderful. I recommended to several my family...they all love theirs too. My pad is the larger of the two sized...I wouldn't bother with the smaller one....this gets your shoulders, neck and down your back quite nicely. As for the smell that many reviewers spoke of, there is a mild smell to the pad when it's on...but I barely notice, probably would not have paid it any attention had it not been that I was wary of an odor due to reading some of the reviews before my purchase. I am glad I didn't let that deter me, so glad I got this pad...I will use it several times a week. I will most likely buy another one just to make sure to have a back up.

This pad seems to be really well made. The fabric and weight are nice. This was ordered for a larger, older man, with broad shoulders. I was concerned about it being big enough and it is perfect.

UPDATED 03/10/2017: My initial review, below, might have been a bit hasty. Somehow, it seems, this unit needed "breaking in" After a few uses, the temperatures seem to be warmer, provide a broader range, and are more constant than initial impressions. Still seems well made, and I give it a solid 4+ and recommend purchase. Original Review: While the Sunbeam XL Renue Heat Therapy Wrap seems well made, I experienced many of the same issues reported by other reviewers. The unit, on full power, does not get very warm. I think it heats up to what most might consider "medium". Once it gets there, it only stays so hot for about 15 minutes before getting quite a bit cooler - then it stays heating at the lower temperature, perhaps what one would expect to be "low". The size is reasonably good for a 5'11", 180ish male like me. I selected this product because I wanted it to treat lower on my back than other shoulder style units do. I am very sensitive to chemical odors and only experienced this upon initially opening the package - the smell dissipated immediately. This unit is very soft and flexible, unlike most "heating pads". I am not as happy with this purchase as I had hoped to be. If it performed better, the $50.00 tag would be reasonable, but considering the limitations, it's maybe worth $25-$30.

I purchased this in March 2019. It's April 2025 and I'm just now having to replace it. I've used it daily, sometimes multiple times per day. I'm replacing it because it seems there is a short in the cord/wiring by the control switch which will cause it to turn off if the cord/controller is even slightly twisted (which is a good thing for safety!) It actually still heats up great, but for safety reasons, and not wanting to constantly have to unplug it to reset, I'm ordering another one. I looked at several other cheaper ones and this one still seems to be the best for this price point and size. FYI: For people complaining about the price increase, I paid $44.99 + tax in Mar 2019. It's literally only a few dollars more right now. Even if it was $10 more I would still be buying another one. The link below is to another review for this product from someone else. This is nice that it heats up fast the only downfall is that it’s too stiff and uncomfortable around the neck, the last beige and brown one I bought a few years was much better. And more comfortable, I really liked it better, needs improvement or go back too the beige and brown one from a few years ago. This is the only reason I gave it a 3 star other then that I do love my Sunbean.
