The USB is bootable and it takes you to Catalina Recovery Mode, there you need to erase & format your Macbook’s hdd/ssd. And load the OS.In my case I had a partitioned HDD because had I tried to install bootcamp Windows, but during installation it got messed up and somehow it started not seeing the partitions. So I had no partitions to restore and load MacOS. So, I am returning the USB but wanted to give it 5 stars because it would most likely work if my macbook had a healthy hdd.

A,B,C it's as easy as 1,2,3 as simple as.....
Long story short I was looking to update my un-supported macbook pro to Big Sur and in that process I needed an OS to revert if it was unsuccessful. I first ordered Mojave, and it gave me some trouble (would start the install process and then hang upon restart) so I contacted the seller and he was able to help me troubleshoot some things and eventually recommended I come up one more year and try installing Catalina. Thanks to Amazon's 1 day delivery, I was able to install Catalina 10.15 on my macbook pro and it didn't even take an hour to do it!Product is plug and play and works exactly as I expected it too!

Straight up scam.
Product did not work, the scan code to review the instruction video was removed from all social media site..Unable To contact seller for help in anyway.. The flash drive was corrupted.. Waste of money.. Should receive a full refund.. But apparently it’s not an option.. Do not buy from this seller.

It works
I used it on my 2009 MacBook pro and if I reinstall from Apple using internet, it install maverick 10.9 macos.So in order to jump from 10.9.7 to 10.15 you need this installer.

This product got me out of Mojave!
I had issues updating to macOS Monterey and ended up having to erase my hard drive, swap it out and start all over from Mojave. I had no luck updating online and had to find another way to update to Catalina. The USB drive and paper with technical support along with a YouTube video was a great help to me in getting back in business. I am sorry I waited so long to thank this person for his wonderful product. The Catalina USB drive a lifesaver!

Instructions need some extras....
You need room on the target drive, you might need to erase or format your target drive first

5 star customer service!
I bought the macOS X Catalina from this vendor and for some reason (probably mine) it did not work on the laptop. Tudor from the customer service was really on the ball, getting back to me quickly and offering great customer service along the way. Although I did not end up using their product, I must say that anyone should feel confident buying from this company as their customer satisfaction is obviously top priority.
