Not a heavy card stock
Tags are okay but not heavy paper. Would not be good for distressed painting, but work for scrap booking layers. I prefer Tim Holtz tags.

Ranger Kraft tag #8
I have just got into crafting tags and other mixed media. I go to the TimHoltz.Com website for ideas and was disappointed that this tag did not work for some of his techniques (dragging tag through liquid ink for distressed look). The solution is to use their brand or another brand manilla. That is the yellow tag and must have a clay coating on it because it does not quickly absorb ink as the brown kraft tag does. What I bought is still a great tag -- I suggest only great if you just want to stamp or glue stuff on plus ink pad. It just too quickly absorbs the liquid stain.

love these Tim Holtz tags
I love these, they're heavy weight and hold up well with mixed media. They take forever to arrive though !

Ranger Inkssentials Manila tags are better than Inkssentials Kraft tags
I have been using the Ranger Inkssentials Manila #8 size tags for art projects and the manila tags are sturdy and resist warping when using with wet media. The Kraft colored tags are described as Heavy Weight but they aren't. The paper bends easily while the manila is stiff. Even though the Kraft tags are less expensive than the Manila, the Manila is a much better for mixed media projects. Plus, you don't have to use opaque paper to cover up the brown color. If you are looking for good tags for mixed media art - go with the Ranger Inkssentials Manila tags and avoid the Kraft.

I used these to make small gifts of hair ties. I stamped "thank you" on them, which showed up really well, and these were large enough to show the stamp and hold 5 hair ties with a space between each - I probably could have fit 10 if I'd left off the space and the image!

Good with distress inks
I use these for scrapbooking and art journaling. I like to rub several different colours of distress inks on them as a starting background. They're not really thick, but are fine for my purposes.
