i've tried base layers from patagonia, arc'teryx, icebreaker. none of them are as warm or as comfortable as the smartwool. very happy to find XS stock on amazon as it is not available anywhere else.

Designed for saggy stomach.
Comfortable and warm but be aware that these long johns are designed for the typical out of shape American male with a large beer belly. So if you are fit and trim you will have to roll the waistband to keep it from being saggy across your belly. I wish they had a design for healthy men without saggy stomachs.
