I wish I'd had this machine 60 years ago, when I used to shell pecans for my grandmother! We had a bumper crop this year and with my new "picker-upper" and this shelling machine, I've gathered and shelled 4 lbs.(clean) so far! With my arthritis, back pain, etc., I'd given up pecan harvesting, now I'm back. This device works on small pecans as well as the larger ones, delivers halves almost 90% of the time & the box holds the shell debris nicely. It takes very little effort because of the handle design. I definitely recommend!

Worked very well. Better then I expected. I shelled about a 1000 english walnuts and it saved my hands and knuckles a great deal of pain and soreness.

I bought this nutcracker as a Christmas present. I ended up giving it early because the recipient has a bumper crop of pecans from just 2 trees. One is still producing. The nutcracker, is fast, efficient, and its going strong. Very easy to clean. If you grew up with the old fashioned clamp type nutcracker like I did, this one is a dream! No more tired wrists. I have 3 more boxes like the one in the picture to shell. So far, I have made 2 pies, 1 container of candied pecans, and more items to make.If you're on the fence and think no, I don't think it will work. Take a chance and buy it, this thing rocks!!!!!

Wear safety goggles or fashion a guard like we did (upside down plastic cup with notches cut out, have to take it on and off for every nut). Shells fly dangerously and make a big mess. Works great otherwise.

So easy to use and very well built. We did use a tungue oil sealant on the raw wood

Worked well, but not for smaller pecans.

It cracks our macadamia nuts perfectly and the tray makes for easy, no mess cleanup!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of materials and workmanship of the nut cracker. It looks nice and works very well. Even the mighty macadamia nuts were no match for it. It also adjusts for different size nuts and is fun to use. I'm glad I bought it.
