A must have
This is just another must have on your fownrigger ball. Without a snubber if you grab your ball to remove grass and you accidentally let it go you have a good chance of parting your line. this snubber takes the shock out of abrupt stops and eliminates premature breakage and loss of all your gear.

A must have for downriggers.
I run these on my canon mag 10 downriggers and I love them. The downriggers automatically shut off when the line clears the water. These keep the weight in the water so they don’t swing around and damage the boat.

Bought based on recommendation
I just started using downriggers and it was suggested that I add this snubber to my setup to help keep from loosing my weight if it snags, and to keep from wrecking the downrigger if the snag is severe.

Works great
Like other people on here, I was worried about the snap connection to my cannonball. It is a standard Scotty snap. They also use it on the stacking power grip line releases. This one is more heavy duty and hooks right onto the top of the cannonball. Squeeze the snap, hook it on, and let go. That's it. The cable termination on your down rigger line terminator hooks into the loop on the snubber. No extra hardware required. The swivel on your terminator will allow for the line and cannonball to straighten out, when needed.

Easier to use
Adds protection from snagging and easier on the hands to retrieve the weight.
