This is the best ice cream scoop I've ever used. I had to thaw my ice cream in the microwave before because my old ice cream scoop wasn't able to scoop it, but this ice cream scoop is unbelievable!! I had some frozen solid sorbet and it had no trouble scooping it out (without microwaving the sorbet). My old ice cream scoop used to strain my wrist even when I scooped soft ice cream, but not this one even with hard ice cream!I would definitely recommend it and think it's worth the money. You won't regret it. When I was looking for an ice cream scoop I saw so many reviews of other ice cream scoops where people said that the bowl broke off the handle. It won't happen with this one. This thing is solid and beautiful and it works better than expected.

i always dreaded buying tubs of ice cream because of the difficulty scooping! it would always be like an ice brick, so i stumbled upon this product while looking for some kitchen essentials to buy and decided to try it out, and boy what a great purchase ! like others have said, this ice cream scooper cuts and scoops the ice cream effortlessly, like butter! would definitely reccommend : ).

This is no ordinary ice cream scoop! My son bought it for me after hours of research. It is not only beautiful but it is also efficient. It is both functional and an objet d'art!!! I wish you would create a display stand for it!

I've needed a new ice cream scoop for awhile, but every time I try a new one, I'm not happy with how it performs. I have no idea, but, it seems as if the scoops I used when I was young were much better than any I've purchased recently! I'm not sure if the products are so much worse now, or if ice cream itself gets a much harder freeze, but it is so difficult for me to get even a full scoop unless I let the ice cream sit out on the counter for 10-15 minutes. After that, I can get it to scoop, but the ice cream is a combination of frozen and soft and doesn't work well if I want to use cones.In my research/shopping for a scoop, I was given an opportunity to purchase the Midnight Scoop with a discount in order for me to use and evaluate it and then review it based upon my personal hands on experience with it, I ordered it right away. However, even with a discount, I was surprised at the price for the scoop. Of course, I'm realistic and know that the higher priced items usually means that better quality materials are used in the manufacturing process.When my new scoop arrived, I immediately went out and purchased some ice cream (how wonderful to 'have to have' a reason to buy ice cream!). I waited for a full day so the ice cream would be frozen enough to compare this scoop to others I've purchased (as close as possible to the same conditions).The first thing I noticed when I removed the scoop from the packaging was the weight as I lifted it (sturdy but not too heavy). The head of this scoop is very different in that it does not have a round shaped head like all other ice cream scoops I've ever used. This one is set in more of a short oblong type shape with interesting "cuts" to the sides of the head. It's not easy to describe, but, if you look at the picture description of the product, you will be able to see what I'm trying to describe. The next thing I noted how the grip sits in my hand....it's very comfortable and it creates an angle similar to shaking someone's hand versus an ice cream scoop. There are small molded 'dots' that are part of the handle construction for grip assistance. Next was the ice cream test and without any thawing I set the ice cream scoop into the round container and tried it out. I can honestly say that I am AMAZED at how this ice cream scoop performs! I didn't need to exert any real pressure as I usually do, and it scooped up a very rounded and good size portion! According to the designer, the reason it's so different and more effective than a traditional scoop is the way the weight is distributed and as your hand grips it differently, you don't use your wrist to exert the pressure into the ice cream. I read about this ice cream scoop when it was a Kickstarter start-up and loved the idea, then promptly forgot about it. Until I bent spoon after spoon and tried multiple types of scoops over the years, to no avail. The ice cream had to sit out and soften up before it could be scooped.When I purchased the chrome version, I expected a LOT. I mean, how many people are going to put a lot of money into an ice cream scoop? Here is the thing though: if you are the type of person to invest in the BEST QUALITY so that you do not have to buy something repeatedly, then this is the scoop for you. I will pay extra to know that I am getting a quality item that won't fall apart. AND the designer has guaranteed it for life. In his youtube videos, he runs over it with a car and the scoop remains intact.How did it work for me? Splendidly. It is very solid, quite literally. There is no air in this, the metal is solid through and through. The tip of the scoop is GENTLY pointed (so it won't cause wounds in other words) and it had two gentle curves on each side to support the ice cream as it is scooped (brilliant design, by the way).I have two freezers. The one I store the most food in, makes for very cold, hard ice cream. This is the ice cream I used to test this scoop on. When you use this scoop, you are NOT using your wrist. You are pushing forward with your whole arm and your hand lies on top of the curved handle, your palm the main contact point for the pushing. It is EASY on the hard stuff. Works just like the engineer Dad who created it, said it would. Who by the way, has kids who LOVE ice cream. Way to go! The packaging that it came in was very sleek-looking, and would make a great executive-type gift too. I received this scoop at a discount in return for my honest and unbiased review.
