How many 12.5 squares can I get from this?

There is a selection of all different sizes. So not clear which size you are asking about. The two yard or up to the 10 yard all are of course 60" wide. So Grab a calculator or use a converter or calculator app on your phone or computer and divide 12.5 into 60 that tells you how many squares you can cut across the 60". Then divide again 12.5" into 72" which is the 60" x 2 yard selection. That tells you how many total pieces you can cut out. Mulitply the first figure by the second and that is how many 12.5" squares. That should give you 20 total squares with of course left overs for smaller projects. (Another quick math just off ones head si thinking this as You know 60" is five feet & 12.5" piece is going to be more than one foot so since there are five feet in 60" you should realize you'll only be able to cut 4 not five so Four is always going to be the width number. The lengthbening just 2 yards is six feet & again 12.5" is bigger than a standard 12" foot, so too 6 feet long suggests quickly that you can only cut 5 not six because five half inches will be a full 2.5 inches into the last foot. Again you multiply 4 times 5 and you get the proverbial 20 pieces. I realize that we are all different in how we think and what we understand. But next time draw a rectangle on a piece of paper. Label the width 5 feet = 60" & mark the side or length 6 feet = 72" if you are looking at the 2 yard package or adjust accordingly for the four yard & so forth larger packages. Then knowing half an inch takes 24 to make a foot. Basically you could visualize that means every piece you cut is going to exceed a foot by half an inch. So unless you are exceeding 24 squares going the length of the fabric you can assume you can deduct one foot shy of the full foot measurement. Six feet means 5 squares which is how people make quick in their head calculations like this. One foot goes into 60" by 5. But your cut witll exceed the one foot mark so of course 4 will be the answer across the width. Then the length is determined the same way of thinking. In this case assuming you wanted to purchase the 2 yard pack that's 72 inches = 6 feet and you know you will be over 6 feet if you tried for that so you take one foot or square short & you have 5. Again if you pruchased the 10 yard pack that would be 4 across times now it's tricky you are exceeding the 24" rule for that half an inch extra so you have 30 feet long but the one foot off is not going to be enough. In this case you'll need two or 28 = 12.5 squares then mulitply by 4 again & you have 112 squares you could cut. Ted F used the 60" by 6 yard option size so his figures would be 4 x 17 by my calculations and rules stated above I get 68 squares at 12.5 inches. Assuming you meant inches. Anyway calculate the inches across divide by 12.5 round to the nearest full figure droping anything after the decimel and so 60" equals 4 and do the same for the length. Two yards is 72", 4 yards is 144, 6 yards is 216, and so on up to 10 yards a super easy peasy one as 10 times 36" equals 360. Divide by 12.5 each time and round to above the decimal and then multiply the 4 across which is constant as it is always 60" or five feet across then multiply with what ever number you get for the length. And maybe you didn't think math was a part of life until now. Would this stabilize fine-weave burlap 30" sq. to prevent fraying and make cutting easier? Will be glued to a small cork board.

I think it would work well, however if they offer a medium weight alternative I would use that instead. Usually it;s best to match the weight of the stabilizer to that of the fabric. Also, burlap still may fray, treat cut edges with liquid Fray Check.
