Works great for us
We actually have this connected to two AC's with a "T" fitting. It works perfectly and in our humid Indiana summers is downright essential. Easy to install if you understand tubing fittings and NPT threads. Pretty slick.Later - moved things around, hooked up to one compressor, but it started staying open all the time after a couple of months. Took it apart and cleaned out the inside. Draining from the bottom of a vertical tank, obviously there is a certain amount of junk, flakes, rust, whatever, and this gets into it and then it needs a cleaning. If anything lodges in the valve closure you have to get it out. Just saying. We don't see this as a fault, but were wondering if we should add a prefilter.

Works great!
To prevent the drain from cycling too often and when we aren't in the shops where they are used, I wired them to one leg of the 240v power to the compressor motors and the other leg to ground. This isn't code, but the grounds are bonded to the neutrals in the sub panels with good ground wires between. The drains cycle when first powered, so these run each time the compressors cycle and are off when the compressors are off. A silencer/muffler for compressed air, also from Amazon, make the drain quiet enough to stand right next to it without the volume being annoying. The compressors are both old cast iron units that are relatively quiet and very nice, so this topped off a well built air system. It beats trying to remember to drain the tanks. One of the compressors was made in 1947 and was worth rebuilding but it's original tank was beyond rusted. This drain will save the brand new 60 gallon replacement tank.

Works perfect
It is easy to install. But wow, be mentally prepared or it will scare the life out of you when it trips. Its a loud burst of air dumping off for a user set time. A second or two is fine for me every 45 minutes. I may adjust when painting a car or truck a little longer. After a few days its not even noticeable for myself but i enjoy watching the kids and dog jump :)Its a very effective add on and i would recommend this unit. Its been on about a month.

So far so good
No directions but relatively easy to install. Had to rotate the electrical cover so the drain line could be attached. I used galvanized fittings to get the assembly out where it's serviceable. I also added a filter to the blow off so as to contain the aerosol created when the valve opens. My compressor makes 160 psi and this unit works well so far (1 day). Definitely worth the $$$

Great little drain valve!
Bought this for a new compressor that cuts off at appr. 170 psi. Needed it capable of draining at that pressure.Installed this valve with add'l cost of appr. $25 in plumbing. Installed it on a timer as 45min interval seems too often. Timer cuts on 4 times/day, the valve releases at pwr on and again 5 minutes later. Has no problem handling the pressure. Water filtering is catching alot less moisture now. Works very well.If this things lasts over time will be well worth the money.

Junk - made for faucet supply lines and rubber washers
None of the fittings are NPT; you can hook it up with faucet supply lines no problem, but my compressor is greater than 100psi, so that is not an option. If any of this is brass, it is negligible in percentage. The screened elbow fastens/seals with two rubber washers...yes, that'll work, but it will not last with time/age. Granted, this unit is quite cost effective at $30, but for double that, you can actually get one made for this purpose with correct threading, etc. (Just remember, you will have to spend another $15-30 on fittings to make THIS one fit correctly with NPT threads that are standard on compressors. - so why not buy it right the first time). Returned.

Not quite right
I installed it and once plugged in the solenoid opened and would not close. It continously drained air. It turns out it was wired incorrectly at the plug (blue=hot, brown=neutral, yellow=ground). The directions said hot=brown, blue=neutral, and yellow=ground.Instead of changing the plug, I just wired it per the instructions directly into the LINE side (power in) on the air compressor switch. I works fine now and I only have to plug the compressor in for both the compressor and auto drain to work. (No need for a separate plug for the auto drain). If yours let's air out continuously when plugged in, you just need to switch the hot and neutral wires, and at that point you might as well wire it into the compressor switch like I did.I would have given it 5 stars if I didn't have to rewire it.

Now I won't forget to drain tank
Unit has been in service for about 2 months, so far no problem. I have it connected to compressor power circuit so it runs for 10 seconds whenever the compressor starts
