This item arrived quickly, the packaging and the item were in perfect condition. The desk is comfortable on my lap, and the cushion is sturdy. The desk is light and the top is a nice scratch resistant material.My 17-inch computer fits on the desk, but it does cover the USB port for the light, which is not an issue as I don't want to use the light with my computer. There is a handy slide-in pocket in the back of the desk for storing the light when it is not in use. The pull out shelf works well with the cordless mini mouse I prefer, it might be a touch small for a full sized mouse.The tablet slot is a generous size that will accommodate my 10 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, even with the cover on. I haven't used the phone slot on the pull out shelf, but it looks adequate for any phone. The light works well, and the completely flexible neck allows it to be adjusted to an infinite variety of position. I use the light when I'm using my Basford adult coloring books, which have lots of tiny details, and the light is nice and useful for this purpose.The only weakness at all for this desk is that the pull out shelf is slippery and sometimes my mouse falls off. I'm planning on picking up some clear friction tape to put on the shelf to solve this issue.

I always read the reviews when researching items, usually looking first at 1-star comments to see what problems may not be described in 4 or 5-star comments. The very few 1-star ratings did not deter me, and I'm so glad they didn't because this lap desk is AWESOME! I had foot reconstruction surgery three months ago and was doing very well, but recently injured the surgical foot, needing to return to elevating it constantly, all while committed to working remotely from home. I balanced my laptop on my 45-degree elevated legs while using blankets to provide a more comfortable typing angle, but the laptop kept sliding and it was very tricky. I prefer a corded mouse and by the end of my 8-hour workday my entire arm was stiff from the awkwardness. This lap desk solved those problems, with the added bonus of having the great USB light! The mouse stays on the extendable mouse pad unless I shift drastically very suddenly. I have an old Dave table purchased years ago that pulls up very closely to me while I'm seated comfortably on the couch and I can just lift the lap desk with my laptop in place onto the Dave table and push it out the way when not being used. The padding is extremely comfortable and provides sufficient balance where the lap desk feels sturdy without added weight, especially since I have an old rotator cuff injury. My only slightly negative comment would be regarding the phone slot, but the issue is so negligible to me that it would be unfair to downgrade the rating by even half a star, this lap desk is so great. I use a wallet style cell phone case for my S7 that won't fit in the cell phone slot so I removed my phone from the case, but the slot is very shallow and I was concerned the phone might take a tumble. The slot is open and while my cell was in it briefly I was able to plug in my charging cord through the bottom. I can imagine using this lap desk easily while sitting upright, either on my Dave table or lap. This is undeniably in the top 5% of my favorite Amazon purchases!

I am so glad that this is the lap desk I decided on. It is comfortable and attractive. My Mac keyboard and trac pad fit on it nicely. It holds my 10.1" Samsung Tab S just fine. I think the slot for the tablet has been enlarged. The description states it will hold a 9" tablet but the slot on my desk is about 12.5", so I am inclined to say it would hold a much larger tablet. My iPhone 6s Plus, in it's case, fits snuggly in the slot on the mouse tray. I am pleased with the silver "glitter" color. I like it a lot. The wrist pad is comfortable as is the way it sits on the lap. The mouse tray slides left or right for any lefties out there. I do use a mouse pad because the mouse slides off the tray, not a deal breaker for me. I like the LCD lamp, it's great for a dimly lit room. (My keyboard is not back lit.)After reading reviews on many, many laptop desks I am glad I decided on this one even though the cost was a bit more than some of the others. I have absolutely no buyers remorse. It's well made and I love it.

This was a gift for my wife, who has developed a preference for working with her laptop on her lap, on the sofa. This led to some stiff necks (from staring down at the computer on her lap), some lap discomfort (those laptops can generate some real heat), inconvenience with keeping the phone handy, and then the problem that there was nothing to write on if she wanted to handwrite a card or note. This multi-tasking lap desk has solved all of those problems to her great satisfaction. The lap desk is comfortable, raises the laptop up a few inches reducing neck strain, isolates the laptop heat, and gives her a solid surface for occasional handwriting tasks. The mousepad slides easily from side to side, so she can place a phone or cup of tea conveniently on either side. The USB light is surprisingly handy, and helps her see better when working during the evening. It took her a couple of weeks to truly appreciate the gift (hey, it was way better than a vacuum ;-), but after some repeated use she now finds it a must-use item. I probably should give it five stars; the only nit that leads me to lower the rating one star is that the desk seems to be designed for a tablet+keyboard combo, so it has a tablet tray which she doesn't use or need. So I might have preferred a version that was for laptops only. Maybe that's a minor point. In sum, it looks attractive, is well-designed and well-made, and is really useful for someone who likes to work in non-traditional places around the house, like a comfy chair or sofa.

Love it! Very useful. The light didn't work as well as I had hoped but I don't use it much in the dark.

I just received my new lap desk a few days ago. My friend had one & I loved hers so much that I ordered one immediately. I just LOVE it. It is so practical & has places for my devices. I love the LED light, the carrying handle & the side mini-desk that slides out either side. I think Sophia & Sam Co. have thought of everything needed in a comfortable lap desk. I have used a much smaller one for many years I purchased from a book store, but this one is so much bigger & better. The other one will still have some use, but I am using this new one constantly. Great quality lap desk. Light is enclosed in a handy storage pouch. Desk makes laptop work easy and comfortable.
